All out trip to celebrate our first anniversary
Thursday 11/8/01
And were off! Bright and early we head downstairs to breakfast, then back up to get our baggage. We hopped onto the complimentary airport shuttle, and were at our terminal in a flash. At this point we were dismayed to see a long line at the ticket counter for boarding passes, but we were then approached by a SkyCap who had us ready to travel in less than 5 minutes. Well worth the tip we gave him for handling our bags!!! From there we proceeded through airport security a very long line, combined with searching every person with a metal detector. Small price to pay for safety, though. We boarded our flight on Jet Blue to MCO and had one of the best trips ever perfectly smooth, plus you gotta love the leather seats and individual complimentary DirectTVs! I got my fix of Card Sharks and Trading Spaces and we were in Orlando before I knew it half an hour early! We picked up our Annual Passes in the airport, picked up our car at the Emerald Isle, and were in Epcot by 2:15pm. We popped onto a couple things, including Test Track, took a loop around both Monorails (DH had never been on the monorail before today!) and then headed over near Universal to find our home for the next 3 nights the Radisson Universal. When we originally booked this through priceline, we thought wed be arriving on 11/9, so our reservations were split, and under two different names .mine and his. The woman at the desk was wonderful and somehow managed to combine them all under DHs name. She gave us a corner room with a Universal view that also happened to be a mini-suite! We paid a total of $95 for the three nights we stayed there, so needless to say we were awestruck. Especially after the crummy room wed had in New York! We headed down to the bar and had a few drinks to celebrate our good fortune before calling it a night.
