vistana resorts

My family and I will be staying at the Sharaton Vistana resort (I believe i mile from WDW) in Sept also staying at Jensen Beach Vistana resort the 2nd week? Can anyone give any info on what the rooms are like, which area is best? What cafes and reataurants are like any info really. Is there transport laid on to WDW? If so how much?
Any info on Jensen Beach would be great, how far from nearest shop etc? What there is nearby to eat and do?

Hi, I would also do a search here on Vistana Resorts. Alot of people, including myself, have posted about Vistana. I hate that the lady that posted earlier today had such a terrible time. But she is the first person I have heard of that had a bad experience. Everyone that I have chatted with has said it was excellent. Also check out this board. It is especially for timeshares. It helped me to decide to go there. When I get back I will post my experience also.

I joined TUG and it asked who referred me....I put your screen name 'momuv2poohs'.....hopefully they will give you credit for the referral.

Also when are you going to Vistana? If you get a chance to see the Lakes/Fountains area, let me know what you think. I'm going to request a unit in this area since we have a large party (9) and most people have referred that area for large parties verses Cascades, plus it sounds like the Cascades area may be really crowded during the time we'll be down there (July).

Thatchi, thanks for giving my name - I go by Caitlyncheri on that board. I am going the first of May. I will let you know when I get back what I think of it. Was this board and the TUG helpful? Are you renting directly from Vistana or are you exchanging. I rented directly from an owner through vacationsonly.com and got the whole week for $850.00 (7 nights). This was for a 2 BR/2BA luxury (with the jacuzzi). If I had waited I could have gotten it a lot cheaper, but I was afraid to wait too long. It is alot cheaper that way. I will let you know if my reservation and everything goes ok when I get back. So far, everything has gone great.

YES, this board and TUG has been VERY helpful. I agree with you, becoming a member for $15 was helpful too. Last September, we bought a timeshare unit at Vistana - Fountain II area. This will be our first time staying there. We are confirmed for a unit in the Lakes area. We went on a tour there in May 2000 and really liked it but not for what the resort was asking. They wanted $10K for a Falls unit, which as you know is a rather old area of the resort. We ended up buying resale for a much newer unit at half the price!

Did you use the Diamond Lane Express check-in off their website? I'm not sure if this feature is for owners only or not

I called the resort and they put me through to the Diamond Express. After reading the other post, I sure hope we have a good experience. Did you read the one on the TUG? Kind of makes you wonder. I have never stayed at a timeshare before. My DH was kind of against it. But I saw the website and looked great. I hope I have not totally messed up. We dont get to go on a nice vacation except once in two or three years, so lets hope I have not ruined it for everyone. I wish some more people who have been there recently would post. The Diamond Check in is for everyone is the way I understand it. But I dont like to go through them. They messed up my first reservation. Then I went through vacationsonly.com and went directly through an owner. At one time the Diamond Express had me 3 reservations for the same name, and times. I got that straightened out though. I have a feeling that is what happened to the lady who posted before. Lets just hope it gets better.

I can't imagine Vistana being as bad as the one posting on TUG. Out of all the postings about Vistana, 95% have been positive. So I wouldn't worry if I was you. You're going at a good time, it won't be crowded either! Actually, when we took a tour of Vistana, it was during the first week of May 2000.

Thanks. I will definately post when I get back. I cant imagine that either. I am like you I have only read 2 or 3 that were negative responses. I called today to recheck my reservations. They were great. I hope so, I have already paid the owner!! I am so ready!! LOL
