Hello,
What is the traffic like to Magic Kingdom and other attractions from the Vistana Resorts or Villages? Do you have suggestions on good times to depart for the attractions?
Thanks,
Jim:confused:

I stayed at Orange Lake Country Club, which is further then many Resorts. In April there was no traffic at all. Calm down, I doubt outside Christmas or Thanksgiving rushes that the traffic is bumper to bumper.

Never took more then 10-15 minutes to WDW and 30 minutes to USF.

Just returned from Vistana...Traffic was not bad at all. Very easy to get to and from Vistana or Villages.

Quick five minute drive into WDW. You can turn right on 535 from Vistana, take the first right International Drive South, turn right. Turn right on Osceola Parkway and away you go right into the main drag into WDW. Then, depending on where you want to go, another 15 or so minutes into the parking lots to the parks.

Turn left on 535 from Vistana, get in I4 and head towards Orlando. Follow the exits to Universal. Maybe a 15-20 minute drive from Vistana.

Depending on how well you are with directions and having your bearings down, you may need some fudge factor for getting a little lost. When we first started driving that area, we kinda had a few OOPS, missed the exit problems. DH is not good at knowing his directions in Central Florida. It took us a bit to get used to where we were driving. Get a map, and have a good navigator. The directions in WDW are pretty great, but sometimes, you can still feel a little lost.

We usually like to leave our resort (depending on which one we have for that trip) around 8:00-8:15 a.m., after a big breakfast in the condo. That gives us about:

10-25 min. for the drive & parking
10-15 min. to ride the tram & monorail
10 min. to get through the security check & turnstiles
15 min. to make our way down Mainstreet, taking in the castle view & bakery smells before rope drop! :)

(We used to add a little more time, for a cup of coffee near the hub, but they only serve instant now  ... so we drink ours, freshly brewed at the condo, in our travel mugs during the short drive in the car.)

BTW, we used to leave our Disney resort hotel room about the same time, to walk to the bus stop, wait for the bus, ride the bus, etc. It took about the same time... sometimes more if we'd just missed a bus.
