Vistana resort

well this one is

www.condodirect.com

so I am guessing that one is????

II unlike RCI will not rent a resort to the general public without that resort permission....

so the Marriotts and some others that II definitely has aren't and won't showup here....

that say they might on your because it is not the general public - I couldn't see it....

oh. I'm sorry! I didn't realize that link wouldn't work. :( It's through www.govarm.com which is like www.afvclub.com but links through to condo direct. The 2 Vistana codes are VIO and VIT.

Just an update:
I emailed Starwood last Wed. and got no response, but tonight a manager from Vistana called and said he saw my review on the Disboards. ( So I guess they do read these boards!!)So I am happy to report Vistana came through and the situation was rectified. :)

Jen

Wow Jen ! This is great that they read the boards. I always wondered. I have actually sent posts from the message boards in letters I've written Vistana (screen names not included).
Very happy for ya Jen :thumbsup2

Jem--that is amazing! Good to know....so with your new pull can ya get me into Lakes???

Ha ha just kidding. Glad it sounds like all has worked out for you well. I stick to my opinion that Vistana is an awesome resort. And I get to test that theory starting Sat. I wll let you all know how it goes and where I end up after I get back.

I am staying at the Vistana Village in July so I am okay right. It is the resort you guys are talking about right. You guys are making me nervous.

Michelle,
Don't mean to making you nervous. We were generally talking about the main Vistana resort (which is a little closer to wdw). The Vistana Villages are newer and generally there are no old units.

I'm sooo curious what you thought of Orange Lake- was the new water park thingy finished? Is there a section I should request? do you have any tips or info for us? Thanks for any help!

here is the thread I started about Orange Lake:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1010774
We liked it there, but I know others have had different experiences that have stayed in the West Village....... The sections to request are the North village or the East village - the rooms are the same in both. The West village is older (I have never been in them, but have read some not-so-great reviews.)
The water park is not finished yet - I think it is suppose to be open in the spring.

I booked an exchange with Interval international for the sheraton vistana for march. I called and asked what section we would be in and they said they did not know. The resort code I received is VI0 does anyone know what section this is. After reading some of the reviews I am afraid I will be in the older section with all the problems. I have searched the web but have found no answers. If someone has information on this I would really really appreciate it. I have been so nervous about this and I don't want it to ruin our trip. Thank you

Sue,
First of all, welcome to the DIS.
As for the code, I believe, generally, those that have booked through II have gotten the newer sections (Lakes or Cascades). Vistana does reserve the right to place exchangers where they want though. But from various reports on this board, I know many have gotten the Cascades via II exchanges.
Definitely fill out the Diamond Lane form a few weeks prior to arrival and request the Lakes or Cascades : https://www.svosecure.com/starwoodvo/diamond.jsp?resortID=5

Hi there! I am in the same boat as you. We are booked at the Vistana thru II and we will be there in 9 days. My paperworks gives me a unit # in the Lakes section. The letterhead of my conf. paperwork says Lakes and Cascades under the hotel address. I have called them and they said that there are no guarentees. I have decided that I will be happy with anything clean. Of course I am hoping for a newer section but I decided that a older section will not ruin our stay. Many people have had the older units and have been happy. Try not to stress out too much because it is out of our control. It seems that the older units should have a different pricing structure.

Since this thread is active again, I wanted to give an update - I posted Jan.31 that a manager from Vistana called me about our awful stay (I was told by him that I was going to receive starpoints) - well, surprise surprise, I never received anything!! So much for Vistana "rectifying" the situation........

Jen

First off I would like to thank Maria for her information. Hopefully, I will sleep better tonight. My confrimation certificate from Interval does not have lakes or cascades listed and it also does not list a unit number on the paperwork. However, when I go online to check my reservation it has a unit #0267 how do you find out what section that unit is in? I am worried because I picked this exchange up on Feb 18 so, it was considered a less than 60 days reservation. If you have any information let me know. I really appreciate all this help. We are DVC members also but we didn't have enough points to stay at the boardwalk for this trip. I picked this resort because for 1 it is a Sheraton and 2 the pictures looked so nice. I just want to have a magical disney stay!

No Way! That is incredible. Have you called the manager back? Is it just taking a long time or have you been blown off?
Tara

sueshops- I was told that the unit # they give you on the conf. letter doesn't mean much. We booked a year in advance and used the all our points for the year. Hopefully you got a bargin since you booked last minute. :thumbsup2 What week will you be there? I can do some snooping around if we are there before you. We are there the week of the 5th. You may end up in a new section. The pictures that Maria posted look nice and I love the screen porch!
Tara

Tara, That would be nice if we were there at the same time we are going on March 25. Some of the reviews I read on tripadvisor are really bad. But, it seems like most of them were exchanges with rci or low cost travel sites. I called Interval on this also and they didn't know what I was talking about as far as the different sections at the resort. I told them that on their website it lists lakes and cascades and they said then that must be the section. But they weren't sure. Oh well at least I'll be in my favorite place disney!!!!!
Sue

Sueshops- I'll ask what they do with II when I get down there. I'll post when we return. Don't be disapointed. You could still get a great section. It says V on my paperwork. I think that are odds are equal as far as what section we get.
Tara

Oh, One more thing on my Vistana reseration it's a 2br 2bath sleeps 6 max. So, I figure the 2nd bedroom must be 2 twin beds.
