What are their shuttles to WDW like?

Where is the closest non-Goodings grocery store?

And are there any nearby restaurants that deliver there?

What are their shuttles to WDW like?

Limited schedule, for a fee (except nightly cash rentals, I think), with (I believe) 24 hour advance reservations. Call the resort directly for up-to-date info. It's a very short drive, so using a car is advisable if possible.

Where is the closest non-Goodings grocery store?

5 years ago, we got on I-4 west, exit at Rte. 192 west in Kissimmee, 1-2 miles on the right was a Publix with a very good selection and reasonable prices. There may be something newer and closer now.

And are there any nearby restaurants that deliver there?

The Orlando area has a delivery service for most nicer restaurants, with a service fee above whatever you order. I don't remember the name of the service. There are some prepared foods available at the onsite poolside restaurant near the "superpool." I remember there being a card in our room advertizing delivery from a pizza shop but that was 5 years ago. HTH.

When you exit the resort on 535, turn right. Go down until you can't go any farther, that is 192. Publix will be at that corner on your left.

You really need a rental car, not only is the service limited but it's not free.

If you stay there without a rental car you better budget money for taxis.

If you turn left when exiting the resort, and then pass the shopping center with Goodings, you'll run into another supermarket - maybe Winn Dixie? - on the right.

We have stayed at Vistana 5 times now and we love it. The restaurants on-site are very good. We like Zimmies the best (it's the one by the Super-Pool mentioned in the posting above). At the general store they have a pizza hut outlet that delivers too.

I recommend a car as well. Vistana does a lot of things well, but shuttles are a bit of a pain (in my opinion).

Finally, Publix on 192 is excellent. There may be something closer since last we were there (August 2002) but their prices are good, produce is fresh, and they have everything. DH especially loves their fried chicken, sold in the deli, that's what we have for dinner on night 1...every year.

I vote four stars for Publix on 192 also. We had a couple with us who were celebrating their anniversary. I went to the bakery at Publix, and the workers at the bakery couldn't have been nicer. One of them offered to stay late that night and make up a special cake (no, not the typical pre-frosted with writing on it; this was a massive cake with fresh strawberries, chocolate whipped cream for frosting). We arranged that I'd pick it up the next day. Now, that's service! Also, Vistana is a great resort for families. It's about as close as you're going to get to Disney without actually being on Disney property!!!
