I have a room for Feb 5, 2005 (saturday) that I got off of Skyauction. I won the auction for a total of $411 including the processing fee. I had the option to upgrade from a 2BR that sleeps 6 to a 2BR that sleeps 8 for $50. I did it. So my total was $461 for the week. Anyone know what the $50 is going to do for me? Which room I might get? And also, who do I email with a request and when? TIA

I though all the 1-bedroom were in the new building - Cascades - while the 2-bedroom are all over the place

You’re $50 guarantees you that you will not be in the Falls section. The Falls section is the only one that has a king, two twin beds and a sleeper sofa (sleeps 6). The other sections have a king, two doubles and a sleeper sofa (sleep 8). And you can wait and e-mail about a month before your date. However, I e-mailed them a month prior and was told they didn't have my reservation in their system. I began to get worried so I called Skyauction and they said they do not send the paperwork until about 2 weeks prior. My situation was a little different because it was canceled a couples of times due to the hurricanes. So don't be alarmed if they don't have it 30 days out. You will be fine.

Thanks MUDD77 and Spiceycat. That's just what I wanted to know.

MUDD77 - You were there this month? Where was your room and were happy with it? My wife is a bit worried about an older room. We've stayed at the AKL the last two times and she is spoiled. We have a family of 6 (i have 4 daughters) so we need the bigger area and the 2 bathrooms!!!!

We were in the older Falls section. Look on page one of this thread for my observations and a little further down is a link to some pictures I took.

That is what I was told on the phone, however he could of meant that Falls is the only section that sleeps six with a Sunday check in. We checked in on a Sunday. What day are you checking in?

If that is still considered a Saturday check-in then you will not be in the Falls section. The entire Falls section is Sunday check-in only (according to the color-coded map they gave me). If this is the case there must be another section that has the twin beds for a Saturday check-in. If you give them a call, 800-338-1171, they will be more than happy to tell you which section has two bedroom villas, sleeping six, with a Saturday check-in. They may even be able to tell you which section they currently have you booked in. I was told prior to my arrival, however I was hoping for a switch once I arrived. Good Luck!

My parents had a Saturday check-in with a unit that sleeps 6. They were in Courts which we were told was all Saturday check-in. They had 2 twin beds in the second bedroom. So you may get Courts - it wasn't very new looking, but the unit was fine - not dirty or rundown or anything. The location they had was actually really good. It was right near the Spas Super Pool, across the street from the General Store and walking distance to the Cascades pool and the pool with the water slide.

Mudd, thanks for all of your help on this thread. We used Allears for our $129 rate, and wouldn't be able to use Skyauction since we aren't staying a week. We have a Friday afternoon check-in, and of course, I got the email saying Cascades isn't available. My confirmation states the king, twin bed, 2 bedroom villa. Is there a chance it could still be the Spas section? Does anyone know if the Spas section is at all newer then Falls?

Sorry the map Vistana provided us upon arrival only shows Friday, Saturday and Sunday check-ins.

The entire Spas section is showing only Friday check-ins so there is a good chance that is where you will end up. But then again there is also Friday arrival in every other section except the Falls and Courts sections.

Note: Every villa in each section is assigned a check-in day. Each section has Fri., Sat., and Sun. check-in days with the exception of the Falls (Sunday), Courts (Saturday) and the Spas (Friday).

Your room is confirmed with 2 twin beds in the second bedroom ? If so, sounds like you'll be getting the Falls to me. A Thursday arrival could get you any section in realty, but if your reservation states 2 twin beds or "sleeps 6", I'm thinking you will get the Falls.

Ooh, Ooh, I have a question!! So if we checked in on a Sunday, and needed a two bedroom to sleep 8, what section would we be assigned? Or rather on the map what sections are they showing for Sunday check-in? Thanks so much!!
