Is someone able to answer this question for me? I remember reading that it depends on what day you check-in on what building of the resort you get into. We've been to Lakes and loved it! Does anyone know what building is scheduled for Friday check-ins? Any info would be helpful. Thank you.

Thank you. It appears that that would be Cascades. Does anyone know if that is one of the newer sections, such as the Lakes? Thanks to anyone that answers. We've planned a last minute trip and trying to sort this all out.

Cascades is one of the newer sections and is lovely. have stayed there 3 times before (last time had to 'persuade' them to move me from Fountains to Cascades)

Actually, you could get Spa's, Palms, Springs, Lakes, Fountains, Cascades.........all of these are red. The only sections you wouldn't get are Falls and Courts.

That's too funny to me. If they give me Cascades, I'm going to try to "persuade" them to move me to Fountains. We have 6 people and I want as big (and still be somewhat new) of a condo as we can get. :teeth:

We stayed in Lakes last year and loved it. I'd take that one too.

Its really interesting to see the different preferences for the various Vistana sections. Earlier this month we spent 16 nights at Vistana. We were given an apartment in Fountains (the orange section of the resort map so I dont know if that is I or II).

I agree the room was huge BUT it had a horrible damp musty smell, the kitchen appliances and washer/dryer looked exactly what they were - 25 year old, well used appliances. They were rusty and not particularly functional when compare to modern day appliances. The furniture (sofas, chairs etc) were worn out an just a little bit uninviting.

And lastly, and very subjectively, it was very BEIGE. You know that late 70s early eighties style where everything is a shade of brown - trivial I know, but it all adds to the general impression especially when we appeared after a 15 hour journey from Scotland.

We got our travel company to sort out the move to Cascades and spent the first 2 nights in the Fountains apartment. So I don't take the credit for 'persuading' them. I tried for 30 mins without success but the travel company seemed to be able to get it changed :confused3

Maybe we got a bad apartment but going by the upgrade maintenance plan it looks like all apartments in a section are maintained to the same level. Maybe we just got one that had had a hard life.

I'm looking at Villages for next year because that's newer - I absolutely love Cascades and would go every time if it could be guaranteed. To me newer is better, to some bigger is better. I'm glad we all like different things, that way we can all get accommodated.

I just joined this forum and it really is packed full of info. I'm looking forward to digging through it all.

It'll be 12 months before my next visit. If you have a vacation coming up - Enjoy!!!
