Visiting WDW New Year's Eve

Can someone tell me the advantages and/or disadvantages of traveling to WDW during New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Advantages:
Epcot on New Year's Eve is simply fantastic - great entertainment and fireworks, awesome atmosphere
Christmas decorations will still be up
Crowds dissipate very quickly starting with New Year's Day

Disadvantages:
Very heavy crowds through New Year's Day
Short hours after New Year's Day

Some advantages are getting to say that you spent NYE at WDW, also there is a special feeling in the parks on NYE, it's really a festive atmosphere and you really get into the celebration. The only disadvantage I can see is the fact that it is extremely crowded.

I agree that the only disadvantage is the crowds.

We've gone down for NYE every year but one
since 1992/1993.
Advantages:
Park's open late -especially MK (usually midnight)
All the Christmas decorations, shows, etc
still going on at least until 12/29 or so (decorations up until at least 1/6)
Bigtime party atmospherre at all the parks!
We've stayed at EC for almost all the NYE
celebrations -we'll probably go to the MK as we're
not staying at an EC resort this year.
EC has lots and lots of music around the world
showcase -every style that you could want from
American Big Band to techno and everything else.
Disadvantages -this is the busiest week of the
year for WDW. period. Expect crowds, especially
NYE. You may want to pick the park you're
celebrating NYE at and go there early enough so's you're not shut out.
It can be cold for FL -we've had HARD freezes
two out of the last 5 years we were there.
Make sure your'e gloves, etc from home are
available -you'll want them.
Its a lot of fun even with the crowds...
Maybe we'll see you there -we're already
scheduled for OKW this NYE!.
