We are going to be in Orlando next month. The last couple of trips we have stayed off property at Bonnet Creek. This trip we are only doing the water parks (darn budget) While it is still an amazing vacation I would like to visit some of the resorts. I have read about boats from Disney Springs to POR and know of the monorails. Are we able to hop on the boats a Disney Springs to visit different resorts? I know my boys would love to ride the monorails. How much of this is possible and what are the best things to do?

You can ride the monerall all you like you could just park at Disney spring and go to the resort via buss or boat then hope to another and do what every

The transportation system will let you go on the monorails, buses and boats for free. There are many hot days when we'll take a boat ride from HS and travel all the way to Epcot. It's a nice trip - about 30-45 minutes. We have also gone from Contemporary up the lake to Ft. Wilderness area - they have a good restaurant and store there.!

there is a boat from DS to Port Orleans (you can walk to French quarter from there or take the boat between the two), Saratoga Springs and to Old Key West. There are boats between MK and Grand Flordian and Poly. You can walk to Contemporary. There is a boat from MK to Wilderness Lodge. Of course there is the monorail between MK and GF,Poly and CR and also resort monorails just between the three. You can walk from the International Gate to Beach Club/Yacht Club and Boardwalk or take a boat. No way to get to CS or CBR except buses, and those have to be from a park, no resort to resort bus. You can bus to POP Century and walk to AOA. You can walk from all the All Stars to each other. You can bus from the water parks to any of the resorts.

Really can't add much to what the PPs already have said. Monorail and boats are free. Take the monorail to each stop and visit Contemporary, GF, and the other stops. May be able to watch the MK fireworks if you stay late enough from outside of the park.
