Visiting Laundryland whilst at Disney...

Keep checking them but never leave them for long... Some disgusting folks will be tempted to take out a load already in a machine and use it for their own stuff to dry , blooming cheeky sods!

I look at it from the other point of view, and call the cheeky ones those people who don't bother coming back for their laundry in time and clog up a machine. I have (admittedly in DCL rather than WDW) removed washing from a machine and put my own in if, if it has been sat there for about 10 minutes of me waiting...

I can see your point, maybe Disney should provide laundry baskets for such events. It's not pleasant to see someone else's items dumped on the floor or thrown on the sorting table sopping wet. I agree they should get back to them sooner however sometimes unexpected things happen delaying the guests return. Those who leave it and disappear to the parks though irritate me no end. Same as those who claim seats around the pool and then vanish for hours and expect to still have a chair pool side!! But that's off topic sorry With the new app though they have no excuses if they are in the resort still, it clearly tells the user how far into the wash or dry cycle the machine is. They can always send someone else in their group over to the laundry area to retrieve their items or switch from washer to dryer.

yes, people do take your clothes out of the machines if you're not there to do it, so i always supervise my wash...
that is, i stay there the whole time so as to avoid that situation..
other than that, it's easy shmeasy...

We have used the laundry app to monitor our batches

We used that at CSR and took advantage of the quiet pools laundry rooms
We would start a batch and set up an alert via the app, as well as an alarm on the smartphone for the time the wash was supposed to be done
Then go for a swim in the quiet pool.
This way we were never too far away, but didn't need to stay in that sufficating atmosphere of a laundry room

This is exactly what I want to do next year, I didn't get any pool time last trip due to the laundry room being set back from the pool and the quick service place in WL... However it was available next to the quiet pool at the YC which was awesome and just behind the tennis courts.. a perfect location to catch some su swim and read a little while the laundry got done. I love the new laundry app it's perfect for those of us who need to pop back to the room for another load or to get refreshments. I'm a happy lady once my crew are stocked with clean clothing again washed in the non biological detergent we bring from home.

I will miss the one bed villa at OKW next trip. Having a washer and dryer was worryingly satisfying. My DH used it every day!!! I advise you stay with your laundry. In 8 trips I have used onsite laundry with no issue going back when it is due to finish or earlier. However. Once at AKL I went for a coffee for 15 minutes. When I got back someone was picking through my still damp clothes and putting the ones they fancied into their bag!!!!! I am not easily phased and confronted them. We were alone and I just told them to leave. Shocking.
