Visiting in February, wondering what that's like...

So we were thinking of visiting Disneyland/California Adventure the last week of February next year. My favorite, Frankie Valli, is performing in Indio, CA that week and that's just SO close to Anaheim, I can't see not venturing over and doing a Disneyland trip while we're in the area.

What I'm wondering is, how are the crowds at the end of February? We'd be going to DL Monday and Tuesday, maybe Wednesday, I'm thinking. I know during the week is always better, though there will be reduced hours in the park.

I am stoked about seeing Cars Land and the new bobsleds on the Matterhorn. Our only other visit was one day in November of last year and I'd like to make it into a few day trip this time.

How is the weather in Anaheim the end of February? We can take it if it's a bit cold, no problem. We did ride Splash Mountain in the early morning in November and WALKED RIGHT ON, NO LINE! It's no issue for us, haha!

Any tips for this time of year would be appreciated! Thanks!

My favorite time to go is in February! Definitely less crowded (except presidents weekend) and cooler temps. *

More likely to rain and that helps thin the herd at Disneyland. Now as far as temps range I've experienced rainforest rain most my trip in 08, then be sunny the whole time and temp in low 80's in 2010.*

Overall you'll have fun! *

February is definitely our favourite time to go. We like having less crowds and enjoy the weather more than the blazing hot sun. We're from BC and don't mind the rain if it happens lol.

My DD and I did the end of Feb/beginning of March this year, and it was, overall, a good trip.

Weather/clothing wise, we wore jeans and sweatshirts, and 2 days, we had rain gear on as well. Several times, we were able to take our sweatshirts off, but only for 1-2 hours, and I'd get chilled again. I will point out, though, that I have some medical issues, and I tend to get colder easier than most people, and once I get chilled, it takes hours of concentrated effort to get me warmed up again, so I put on my sweatshirt before I'm really getting cold! We had a down-pour one afternoon/evening (wow, did it clear the parks!), but other than that, it was just cloudy.

As far as crowds go, be careful. Apparently there's now a thing in California, at least in the LA area, called "Ski week". Basically, they took President's Day, and give the kids the week off. So, it's not just that weekend you need to be careful of, but that whole flippin' week.

Not only do you want to avoid President's Day Weekend, but Valentine's day as well. Other than that, February is a great time to go. My wife and I usually plan to both use a sick day at work on the same weekday every February, because it is so nice and uncrowded. It makes a very nice "date" day together.

Thanks for the info and tips, guys!

It will be the week after Sunday, the 24th, so we'll be missing the President's Day crowd and dodging the lovebirds for Valentine's Day.

SUPER EXCITED!

Another vote for Feb!:thumbsup2

Our last visit was end of Feb/early March and while the weekends were definitely MUCH more crowded, weekdays were awesome! We literally walked right on every single ride, no matter what time of day during the weekday.

Now, I'm not sure if there was something going on during the weekend we were there but it was crazy. Long waits, pretty crowded and totally unexpected on my part. So I would just say, beware of the weekend and try and go midweek!

This is the week we are planning on, too! :cool1:

right! same with F! and also Feb. is a time when they do a lot of refurbs so there may be many things you want to ride that wont be available to you:sad2:

In all honesty, I'm not into the shows and fireworks too much, so that's not a deal breaker.

I'm there for the rides and atmosphere. :thumbsup2

I know there's always a chance or refurbs; last time we went (our first time) Pirates and IASW were down, so we didn't get to go on either of those.
