Visiting another resorts pool??

Thanks for all the replies. It was an honest question, but now I see the light.

My search strings didn't find the other threads about visiting pools, but I didn't use the "pool hopping" term.

Next month will be our first trip to WDW, and this forum has been a great wealth of knowledge for planning our trip.

Thanks

have a great trip and welcome to the boards, it's a great place to stay connected to Disney!

When my family took our first trip, there was a lady I work with who was going to be there at the same time. She told me she was going to call me and maybe we would check out some of the other pools. I had no idea it wasn't allowed, but I thought it would be a big hassle. We didn't end up doing that anyway, but if we had, it would have been because we didn't know any better. Had I known about these boards before that trip, I may have asked the very same question.

In any case, if you think someone is a troll, would the best response be no response at all??:confused3

A GM for many years to many of the WDW Deluxe Resorts once told us about WDW pool hopping policy. As long as you are a guest at one of the Deluxe Resorts you can use any other WDW pools excluding the Beach and Yacht Club and some of the DVC resorts.

Oh, no. Not true. There is no pool hopping policy for anyone but DVC members and even that is limited.

OK - I know no one liked my previous comment (even though I didn't even answer the original question, just tried to provide an explanation for some of the "not magical" responses) -- but to this, I have to say ...

are you for real?

Did you see the photo of the sign on the first page? I have a number of photos of those signs from other pools, the Poly, Animal Kingdom Lodge, etc. Should I post those too? THAT'S where the information is coming from.

Wow, welcome to the Dis OP. You will find that you can do 80 on the interstate, roll through stopsigns, run that red light, heck I bet at least on person who went all crazy on you is even "borrowing' a neighbors wireless internet. But don't ever pool hop, use a mug from a previous visit and by gosh never ever put 5 people in a room for four. The 5th happend to be a 6 year old.

Yes I understand that these are the rules at WDW. But look back at your day and ask yourself how many rules did you break? Did anyone die? Is the world going to end?

It is your vacation, have fun do what you feel comfortable with. My experience with pool hopping is that we have asked the life guard on duty and not once have we been turned away. Now I do have to admit that we have not gone to SAB. Poly and BW have always been great. My wife and I love to enjoy a drink by the pool while the kids swim.

Won't be long now! Have a wonderful trip, and hope you weren't scared away, or put off from posting again.

It is always good to ask first...and you did the right thing by simply asking. Someone recently told me that there is no such thing as a stupid a question...you will have FUN no matter what pool you swim in... :cheer2:

As we all stand around looking upon the smoking wreckage of another pool-hopping argument, here's Disney's actual policy on pool use.

"Please note that pools are for use only for Guests of that specific Resort hotel"

Signage with the policy can also be found at each resort pool.

The resorts enforce this policy with varying degrees of strictness. SAB at YC/BC/BCV will check resort IDs before allowing you into the pool area. Other resorts do random ID checks in the pool area, and those who can't produce proper ID are asked to leave.

And with that, we're done.
