I'm going to disney in August and chose to stay at the All Star Movies Resort. I requested the Fantasia bldg #8. I want to know if anyone has stayed there and was this a good choice and any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks,
:)

fax your request again 4 days out from check in. thats when they assign the rooms.

we stayed there about a year and a half ago, and got our request for the toy story building.

We've stayed at the All Star Movies twice, and we'll be back again in October! We've stayed in Love Bug and 101 Dalmations; both were very nice rooms and also VERY QUIET! It was a very short walk to the food court/bus stops. The hotel really isn't all that spread out. For my family, I don't think its worth the extra money for the "preferred" bldg. My little one loves the Toy Story area and when we were in 101 Dalmations, every time we passed by the big TV with the little puppy by it, she had to pretend she was on TV and talk with the dog and anyone else who was passing by!!

Enjoy your stay!!!

If you requested Fantasia building you are in a prefered building and are paying 10 per night extra for this. This is a gauranteed build and you do not need to fax a request. We have stayed in that building and were quite happy with it. It is very close to everything. We were facing the pool and did have some noice but we went to bed quite early. If you do not want a lot of noice ask for a room facing the parking lot. You should be fine doing this on check-in.

We stayed in Fantasia before it was "preferred" and LOVED it! We faced the parking lot which was nice as there was no noise and when we got back from a late night at the parks,we just parked the car,up the stairs and that was it. Enjoy!!!!

We've stayed there many times. I actually prefer Mighty Ducks, but if I can get Fantasia, I'll go for it. (this was before the "prefered" was added and I don't even like hockey all that much) Even if MD is farther from Cinema Hall, the theming distracts your attention. I like to walk thru the different areas to check them out. I started scrapping the ASMo last week and it reminded me of how much I love ASMo. I had a hard time picking the pics so that they fit on the pages. Of course, if we can get the WL or the Poly, we will stay there, but if we are trying to save a little money, we will always pick ASMo. ASMu and the ASsp just don't do the same thing for me. The other thing I like about MD is the parking lot is right there. It is never a far walk to get to the room. If you are lucky, you can get a space close to Fantasia and it isn't a bad walk along the back of the building. TS wouldn't be bad either since they are surrounded by parking.

Which one is the preferred buildings only fantasia? Is it the entire building or just the rooms facing the pool? A friend of mine is going in a few weeks with her children and staying there and she is staying in the prefered room. Only thing available for the date's she needed. She did request ground floor cause that's what she wanted. Any other info appreciated, (she has a 4 yr old girl and 12 yr old boy) they have never been to WDW before and I haven't stayed at AS before. We will be staying overnite in august for the 1st time! :D MKY

Both Fantasia buildings (entire buildings) are preferred. We have stayed at ASM the last 2 times and love it. We have stayed both times in Toy Story, the kids think it is (in there words) awesome.

Fantasia Building #8 actually is very close to Toy Story only seperated by a small parking area. We faced this parking lot our first stay and actually requested it this time. It's close to the pool, playground, food court, etc. and was very quiet. Although we did not get our request we were very happy with our room and location. We got a corner room in the courtyard "Andy's Room" (you'll know what I mean when you see it) right next to buzz, kids loved it.

Of the 5 themes at ASM Toy Story, Fantasia & 101 Dal. are pretty close to the same distance from Cinema Hall (Food Court, bus pick-up and of course the arcade) with Love Bug and Mighty Duck a little further. As Magic2000 said, the resort is not that spread out. Besides Fantasia, there is another pool at Mighty Ducks and in the Love Bug courtyard area, theres a small water area that my kids loved running through.

Of course we will stay there again our next visit which DH won't let me schedule yet, we just got back. :)

Have a great time!
