If you're not that interested in Star Wars, definitely do NOT go in December!!! It was recently leaked that Galaxy's Edge will likely be opening Dec. / 2019. The parks will be a nuthouse.

I'd vote for November. Less crowds than October, and Christmas decorations :)

September you still could get a hurricane - I've been a few times that time of year and love it but missed a hurricane by a week. That would sure be a bummer on a long-planned trip. Probably the later in October you go the less hurricane chance you have but it could still happen.

I personally wouldn't step foot in Disney during the first month of Galaxy's Edge if your children aren't into it. It will be too busy.
Agreed, it's going to be beyond busy at WDW once GE opens.

It's a rumor based on speculation by WDWNT. There's been no official announcement about a delayed opening. For me, I'm not making plans at this time based on a rumor.

December is definately out, i want the least amount of people there, i really have to decide between sept 28 arrival for halloween or nov 9 for christmas, thank you all

Are you at all interested in Food & Wine in Epcot? That would be running in Sept but ready to end by Nov 9. We're in the midst of planning for Oct '19 because Sept historically is still too hot for me and Oct has Food & Wine. Incidentally, if you are looking at September, the rental period for renting points at David's is fast approaching. The best bet for obtaining points is by requesting at 11 months out. I'm currently waiting for Nov 15 so I can request our Oct 15 start date.

A Nov 9 start may be okay but early November can be a busy time at Disney. This year, for example, lots of things booked up for the Nov 2-4 weekend, and people on these boards refer to the Nov 5-9 week as "Jersey Week" which I guess is a busy time each year due to fall breaks from school.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet Sep 28 would be less crowded. I consider the longer daylight a plus too.

If you go November 9th for a week, you would only be able to enjoy the Christmas party on party nights and everything at DHS. Personally, I think the holiday events are Epcot are not to be missed and I enjoy those the most. You would most likely not be able to see the storytellers or Candlelight Processional.

jersey week should be the 4th to the 8th in 2019, some of the crowd calendars show the november 9 date as less crowded then the september 28th date, but very close, thanks for your input

I have been reading that the MNSSHP has been so overcrowded this year. Im leaning more towards the Nov 9th date now. Now to find someone to sell me dvc points.

Thanks to all

I like going the first or second week of Dec because I love the decorations that are pretty much everywhere. If you go in early November, there will be decorations some places, but most of the hotels won't have sstuff up yet. The weather, however, can be all over the place. We were there one year and it was low 80's and sunny for our entire trip (this was the most perfect weather we have ever had on a WDW trip). On a different year it was in the 40's - 50's all week and off and on rain/drizzle.

Happy planning!!!
