Visa Waiver

I wish there was, because I ALWAYS, always fill it in wrong and have to ask for another!

Is there any where to get hold of the visa waiver forms before we fly so we can complete them at home?

As the Mum of a family 6 I would love to know the answer to this one.

For some unknown reason I feel really under pressure when filling out these blinkin forms, always make mistakes and the airline then always run out of spares.:headache:

Hi,
I haven't asked recently but in the past I have known travel agents to have them.

Mick.

:cool2:

If you can't get them from a travel agent the next best thing is to download and print this sample, fill it in at home and then get a proper form when you check-in and copy your sample onto it while you are waiting to board.

If you can check in at the airport the day before you fly you should be given a waiver form then.

I always grab a load when I hand in my luggage, for some reason it ALLWAYS takes 5 goes to get it right.

I've never even seen them anywhere except for on the plane.

Mind you, saying that, with four children running all over the place I'm normally making sure I've not checked them instead of the luggage.:grouphug:

We have been given them at twilight check-in with virgin.
Although I still needed one on the day of the flight due to a mistake!!!
:rotfl2:

On our last flight with Continental these weren't handed out until the plane had started descent :scared: - not the most relaxed time for me anyway and I had 5 forms to fill in!. Luckily they seemed to have loads of spare forms - I was still filling in bits I'd missed in the immigration queue!:rotfl:

That link was very hepful, but now I've realised Manchester doesn't fit into the city where boarded space? Ok to just put MAN.? :confused3 Also would citizenship be 'UK' and country where live 'Scotland' (in my case obviously) -sorry if this sounds daft but getting so close now I can't think straight!

You would usually just put UK for the country where you live, I believe.

I am getting quite good at filling them in now, for the first time in 2006 I filled the 4 of them correctly, neatly and I was dead chuffed with them. Till I got to Immigration, the Immigration was not impressed that they had all been done by the same person and I had serious doubts he was going to let me in the country. Scared the living daylights out of me - everyone had signed the forms themselves so I didn't think there would be a problem.

Anyway last year we had a lovely Immigration Officer after having dreading the whole procedure again. He did tell us we had won the special prize of being specially selected for a second interview. My son's passport had flagged up because it was a new chipped one. Anyway the next officer was just as nice as the first.

We had given up trying to rush out of the airport by then, which was just as well because there was a major thunderstorm that shut the airport down for a couple of hours.

So eventually we made it to the Royal Pacific and had that good a time we are going to repeat it again this year.:)

So is it a problem if you have a new chipped passport? My son only got his last year and my daughter has just applied for a new one. We are going in September.

At the time we didn't know it had to do with it being a chipped passport but when I came home and looked at the forums there were very many people who had experienced the same thing with the new passports. I don't think it is a problem, just the USA being ultra careful.

I also think it may be because we had been to the USA several time before with Craig's old passport which would have shown up on their system I believe and as a precaution they chose to check him out.

The woman who interviewed us was very friendly, thank goodness. She wanted to know where Craig had travelled, if he had lost his old passport, what he did. I am half tempted to take his old passport with me this year in case they start quering it again, then they can look at it and see he is the same person.

God how annoying - do they never renew their passports in America then?
My hubby and my daughter have new, chipped passports. I think I'll take their old ones along, just in case.
I've always filled in everyone's forms too, as long as the correct people sign, what on earth is the problem?
Combined with people having to get a visa for the slightest thing, it makes you wonder if they actually want tourists (spending lots of cash) at all?:sad2:

Hi there,

We won a second interview last year too. I was travelling on a new passport but the situation was complicated because I had lost my old passport. I was questioned about where I had lost it.

Then when they asked if I had ever been to an Arabic speaking country I began to worry that my half-day trip to Tunis on a cruise was going to stop me visiting Mickey.

All was well. Both immigration officials were very efficient, but also very pleasant (in a no nonsense kind of way).

I had the dubious pleasure of a secondary check at Philadelphia last year. This was because, for some strange reason, my name wasn't on the passenger manifest for the flight. All was resolved in the end, but it was a little worrying at the time.

DH has recently got one of the new passports and we had no problems with it on our recent visit (via Philly again).

Sorry for the delay in replying.

No problems at all. The Border Guard asked a few questions and then said to enjoy our vacation.

The problem was related to me having a new passport having reported my previous one lost. I got the feeling that they were just checking that it had not fallen into the wrong hands.

Enjoy your trip.

We stayed at GW the night before our flight and did twilight check in - they had the forms on the desk do we grabbed a handful and filled ours in that evening. Still took 2 attempts!!
