Visa discount can't figure it out for pkg.

I am having a very hard time trying to figure out the discounts with the Disney Visa discount on both the package discount and the room discounts for Janurary for 3 adults.
I am going in on Dec. 29th on a room only for 212.00
Then my package starts on the 30th with quick service until the 8th on 10 day hoppers. for a total of 3578.00
I have called Disney 2 times and yes I can't apply discounts and out have to do a split stay. So the way I figure it, I pay penalized for staying extra days.
If I go from the 2nd until the 8th. with 10day park hoppers, rate is $2093.00
Then I do 3 or even 4 nights for the package, I have to add at least 1 day for tkts to get quick service dining. rate is $1560.00 for the 4 nights and doing the 1 day pass.
I don't think this is fare. I will be there 6 nights during the special so I think I should be able to use the discount for 6 nights and not have to purchase any extra days to get a discount. In the long run. Since it ends up costing so much for those 4 nights, I might stay off site and do a Universal package as I've never been there and just do Disney for the 6 nights.

Totally agree with you. Do Universal- we did a couple years ago, and we are going back this next time. They got me mad last time we went with "policy".We got there a day early because we made really good driving time, and called when we were about 2 hours away to see if they had rooms available. That night WAS included in our original promo, but she said they couldn't give me the rate I had because no rooms were still available with THAT code- but there were rooms available at full price of $248. So we just went to DTD area and stayed at the Royal Plaza for a night ($99 plus tax and resort fee) they were happy to give me a last minute discount. I cant believe they would rather have that room sit EMPTY than give me the discount that I had on my other 9 nights. I get that they cant sell all their rooms at a discount, but you would think that on the night of.....they would rather have my discount price than NOTHING.
