I have norton and have checked to see if everything is on...email scanning is on. BUT, I have just got 3 emails that have "virus check bypassed" in the subject line. They are from legit people...even one notification from the DIS CB.....

Anyone know what to do???

Thanks
I have win98 and outlook express 6

I don't know what you should do. Have you asked this on the technical support board? They know this kind of stuff over there.

Never heard that one before, Lisa. My Norton screens every incoming and outgoing email, and never changes a subject line. Did you ask those people if they sent you emails?

I began getting the same thing tonight about 6pm. I'm running Norton 2003 ...so I can't imagine anything getting thru. WHAZZUP!!

It scans all the "outgoing" mail just fine. But the incoming mail, I get the message on the subject line. It is even on all the replies to posts on the CB too.....and on some weather sites I frequent.

Maybe it is my cable modem........I pm'd you Bacrd....it could be comcast...not sure...but it is still going on...strange

Norton has deleted 83 emails today that contained a virus. EEK! I'm being swamped!

I got this too, on 2 e-mails today. I have McAffee, so I guess it's not just Norton. But, I also have Comcast.

I seem to be getting emails fine now....just about 4 of them.....I bet it was something to do with comcast.

It's probably Comcast because I started seeing it tonight as well on both DIS notifications and regular SPAM email.

Comcast also adds the header "Spam Alert:" to some incoming messages. It's based on the domain name which it associates as being the source of Spam.

I use a program called mailwasher that allows me to see what emails are out there without actually downloading them. It also has the ability to blacklist and bounce a sender. When you bounce a sender, it sends a message back to the sender(or mail host) that basically says your email address doesn't exist. It seems to work by eventually eliminating SPAM from those emails that get bounced.
