Virtual Stateroom Tour

We got the Roy Suite 9 months out but we were on the land/sea package and I think those packages get preference for suites. For the MAGIC, I don't know how it works. We got the category 2 while sailing in the category 1-so about 14 months out. While in the category 2 and trying to book another suite, all we could get was the category 3 and that was 19 months out! I think the suites are getting harder to get. We are on the waiting list so cross your fingers!

We really did like the category 2! We thought the layout was perfect for our family, and it still had real doors like the category 1 suite.

Yikes, can't you see through the sliding pocket doors of the category 3? I can't have my teenagers peeking in on DH and I! :scared1: That would gross us all out!

Don't be jealous! We did car trips for vacations for years while I stayed home and raised our family. Now that I am working again, we get to take real trips! It was a long time getting here, but it's all worth it now! :flower3: You sound like you cruise in the same style we do! I hope you have a great time!:cloud9:

We had an absolutely wonderful time!!! I am ready to book again in 2009. I want to try category 1 now...just because. I snuck in there and took a peek before leaving the ship this past cruise. hahahahaha

I love the cruising in the suites. We actually did use the room much more than I think we would have if we had been in a smaller suite. We ate in several times at either breakfast or lunch, we watched a couple of movies and the kids listened to cd's a lot with the Bose sound system.

We have thought of doing a different itinerary but are not sure that we can give up the whole concierge level for other cruise ships....

Maybe sometime we can end up on the same cruise! Our teens can all hang out.

As for the category 3, the doors do shut but they are like large pocket door doors. No peeking in.

It's so great to hear that you enjoyed our suite! ;) Cruising in the suites is really addictive, isn't it?

We really do enjoy spending time together in the room when we cruise. I said it before, but we really like the fact that the suites give the boys their own bedroom/bath and we get our own. I've looked at other cruise lines, but their suites are so small and with no divided rooms-It's just not the same!

Which itinerary did you do? We originally did the 4 day in the Roy suite. We rebooked onboard for a Western, then changed it to the Eastern. We had so much fun on the Eastern that we booked it again. I'm really hoping that at the 90 day mark whoever is in the category 2 suite backs out so we can get it!:rolleyes1 Why don't you start saving now for Oct. 2008!

I think our next cruise after that will be our 20th Anniversary and our sons graduation in 2010.

Tink Rules- Wow, those are great pics. How did you get to tour the rooms? Are you a TA? Thanks for posting them. Makes me want to stay in one of the suites:)

Wow! Great thread. We leave in just a few days, and I found photos of our cabin. Thanks, everyone!

This is a GREAT thread!

Two questions:

1) Any difference in the Cat 1-2-3 between the Wonder and the Magic?
2) Does anyone have a ballpark figure for the Cat 1 or 2? I know it depends on how many in your party, when you're cruising, and how long, but before I even start considering it I need to know if it's financially feasible or will set us on the road to ruin :lmao: . On the DCL site I couldn't find anywhere with the prices for the suites

Thanks for any help!

There isn't any difference in the suites between the Wonder and the Magic.
For a family of four, you can almost count on close to $8000 for a Cat 3, and more like $10,000 for the 1 & 2. That's for a 7 night.

I think DCL has gone through all the rooms and "fixed" the problem of the closet doors sliding open when there are a lot of waves. They stick shut with velcro...once when we went, it was new velcro, so it worked really well.
When the etched glass door is closed, in the Cat 3, you can't see into it...unless maybe if you pressed your face right up onto the glass.

On the Wonder, they save the suites for Land/Sea packages. On the Magic, you can book them as soon as your particular cruise opens for booking.

They are not mine... someone else posted them elsewhere on the boards and I thought that they deserved to be here... They are a great tour though.

Just a reminder that you can always get to this thread through a link in the FAQ. :)

We have sailed in 6147 several times, and in that stateroom you get a sofa and a double steamer truck instead of the murphy bed. Big room, TV and closet on your left as you enter and bed on the right. This is on the Magic.

Here are some pics,

Loving all of these pics! I will definitely take pics of our Category 9, two porthole stateroom when we sail in just 9 days. :cool1:

We just booked connecting rooms 7505 & 7507 (CAT 10) on the St.Croix Eastern Nov 7, 2009 Magic cruise. Has anybody stayed in these rooms, and possibly have any pictures to share?

We stayed in the Secret Porthole Rooms (5022 & 5024) on our last Disney Cruise (Western Magic Nov '03) and we LOVED these rooms!!! Unfortunately, they are already booked for Nov '09.

Thanks! :flower3:

we're going on Disney wonder in april , any pics of room 6510??? Thanks for any feedback..

We sailed in 6116 on the Magic during our Med cruise in July '07. We loved it so much that we booked 6116 on the Wonder for April 08 and 6116 again on the Magic for Christmas 2008! It's ideally located for us. I posted a review in the stateroom review section ... I'll have to see if I have any pictures that are easily uploadable - it's a pretty standard room configuration -- when you go in, the bathrooms are to the right, closet to the left. The bed is to the right and then the couch again the right wall, and there is an upper bunk that comes out of the ceiling.

We liked the location being enough down from the aft-elevator lobby that you didn't have people congregating outside your door, but close enough to just pop right out and go up or down accordingly. We liked that it was above the life-boats so we didn't have to worry about the kids being loud-walkers. We did have a little bit of noise from the lifeboats when they were cleaning them, but not during early morning or evening hours.

If you have something you particularly wanted to see about 6116, let me know and I'll dig through the photos.

Keep in mind that while there might not be pictures of each individual stateroom, all staterooms in the same category (except for a few certain ones...like different Category 3's) will look exactly the same. :thumbsup2

I didn't know that different category 3's looked differently. We stayed in one... ours had closets to the left and a bathroom to the right when you walked in. Then the living room with pull out couch and small table w/ 4 chairs then sliding doors leading to the bedroom and bathroom area.
