Heard that virtual queues are going away on January 10-2022. So it will be stand by and Genie+ and ILL$ only. Guess CHEAPek couldn’t afford the IT staff needed for virtual queues. I guess we are lucky that Disney’s websites and apps works properly about 20% of the time.

this is great news. Epcot is the only day you can sleep in but with the virtual queue at seven you couldn’t do it.

I think it has less to do with IT costs and more that it isn’t necessary anymore. I feel pretty confident in saying guardians will start out with a VQ when it opens

Good riddance says I. I hate the virtual queues myself, mostly because I'm not an early riser or rope-drop type - so I pretty much never get to ride any ride with a virtual queue. I finally got on Rise of the Resistance in September when they had temporarily dropped all virtual queues and had an actual standby line. I haven't been able to ride Remy in September or December so far because of the virtual queue.

Exactly. That's what was written in the report that I read.... that it will return when needed.

I’m happy to see it getting dropped on new attractions faster than rise, but I also think rise is a bigger must do than rat as a whole

I don’t think this is about a shift away from virtual queues as much as it is getting ready to transition the virtual queue to Guardians of the Galaxy

So funny. Was prepping a friend on how to deal with the virtual queues on his first trip ever. Than talking to him after he came back from his his trip and was all "what virtual queue?"
Me :confused3
