Virtual Queues at Special Events i.e. After Hours

Hey there,

I hope someone is able to answer my question please.

Does anyone know from the past whether Virtual Queues for Rise of the Resistance had been skipped in-favour of normal stand-by lines when After Hours was on for Hollywood Studios?

It's sort of in-relation to the TRON coaster that is debuting soon at Magic Kingdom. I'm expecting that the TRON coaster is going to have the Virtual Queue system to manage the lines, at least for a while, and I was wondering whether buying a special ticketed event, such as After Hours or Hallowe'en/Xmas parties might allow someone to go on the ride by not using the Virtual Queue.

I'd hazard a guess that when Rise of the Resistance had it during After Hours, that the Virtual Queue was still on, but I thought that I would just ask .

So you have two separate types of events. There are the evening deluxe hours for MK and Epcot. This is where resort guests of deluxe hotels get an extra 2 hours after park closing. G+ and paid ILL are not utilized during these events. Because Guardians has a virtual queue, there is a 6pm drop only for deluxe resort guests. If you don't get into this VQ, you don't get to ride Guardians via standby during evening deluxe hours.

There are also the paid After Hours events at MK and HS. This is where you pay $150 or so to be in the park for 3 hours after park closing. These include free snacks and drinks. Anyone can pay for these. Again, G+ and paid ILL are not utilized during these events. Rise is standby only during the event, and apparently doesn't have too bad of a wait.

For Tron, the speculation is that it will replace Guardians as the only ride with a VQ. Guardians would go to standby with ILL. Mine Train will go to G+. If this is the case, it is likely that there will be a 6pm VQ drop for Tron for evening deluxe hours. For paid After Hours events, who knows what will happen. It would be cool if it were standby only as Rise is now. Personally, I think by the time the Halloween parties start, it would be available as standby for those events.

Nobody knows. At Oogie boogie bash in California in 2021 WEB Slingers was virtual queue during the day but standby during the event. However that was really soon before they dropped the virtual queue and Tron will be very popular when it opens
