Virginia Beach to WDW?

This is so unexpected, but my fiance and I were discussing our summer plans and he decided that we might be able to swing a mini trip to WDW to celebrate my passing the CPA exam. We are driving to Virginia Beach to visit his aunt in July, and I mentioned that afterwards we should just keep on driving south and hit Disney for 4-5 days. So, any idea on how long it would take to get from Virginia Beach to WDW. I am assuming I-95 would be my best route. Thanks for any suggestions!

Time-wise, it's about 12-13 hours from Richmond to WDW, so I would guess it's about the same from VA Beach. Probably the easiest route would be to take US 58 over to Emporia to pick up I-95, then it's straight down to Florida and I-4 to Orlando.

Looking at the map, I see alternatives that would take you into NC and then over to I-95. Maybe someone on here from the VA Beach area that has driven that route can help.

I live in the Virginia Beach area and Obi-Wan is right, you would have to take 58 to get to I-95. All I can say about 58 is YUK. It's a boring drive with a speed limit of 55 and don't you dare go over the speed limit because all the police in that area have nothing better to do than wait for you to speed and then pull you over for a ticket. I live in Va beach, and we have driven to Disney many times. I would say a fair estimate on time is between 13-15 hrs, depending on how often you stop, and all that. We are driving again down there at the third week of March so I will see then. We do however stay overnite because 15 hrs straight with 2 kids is too much for any of us.
