Despite the intention of buying most of our theme park tickets before we fly this year, we still to intend to go to the welcome meeting that Virgin have in the AMC theater at Downtown Disney.

Firstly to take advantage of any offers that Virgin have on other attractions that you can't purchase in the UK, but also to claim our discount vouchers for the Megastore etc.

Just wondering whether they still have the seperate representatives for frequent Virgins ? We don't really want to have to queue too long and waste valuable theme park time. In 1999 we were in there for nearly two hours !!!!

Also now that Macy's are in town, do you get discount vouchers for there ? I know in California/Vegas last year at the welcome meetings we were handed excellent vouchers for Macys.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

I have guests in my home at the present time who bought their park tickets from Virgin .They did not want to waste time in the meeting as their first day was their sons birthday.I contacted Disney and found out you can exchange the vouchers for tickets at any guest relations window-so they did not need to go to the meeting.Perhaps you could just do a flying visit to the meeting?

When we were there last August there were only about 4 families that had bothered to turn up. We had our queery answered before the meeting started and left a few minutes later without going to the meeting.

I didn't notice if they did anything for Frequent Virgins.

They certainly had a separate desk for frequent virgins when we were there last May. Our 10th visit is coming up in June and we STILL go to these meetings! It just seems to start the holiday for us!

is the meeting still at the amc theatre in downtown disney,do you have to make your own way to the meeting,i have ordered 10 day world tickets,do i have to collect them from the welcome meeting ,also anyone know anything about the village premier:Pinkbounc

Can't help you on the subject of the welcome meeting, but I did stay at the Village Premier last September.
We found the room a little cramped, especially the bathroom. ( 2 adults, 2 little kids), but overall it was clean and comfy, not that we spent that much time in the room.
The free brekkie was nice although very limited seating area.
2 good sized pools.
I take it that if you are going with Virgin, they will give you a poolside room? If not ask for one as this motel is on a busy road.
If you get the kids eat free at The Villager restaurant next door, it is well worth going, very handy and lovely food, good value for the money, even if you do pay for kids, it's a very low price, remember it being $2.49!!! huge portions.
We found Village Premier quite peaceful when we went
and so handy location-wise.
If you intend on going to Seaworld, don't bother taking the car, you can walk it in 5 minutes. Just cross the road and walk through the Sheraton car park.
Next door to the motel is a garage and grocery store and next door again is a Bennigan's and a great pizza place which delivered to the room in a matter of minutes- really tasty pizzas!!
not a bad price either.
If you are driving to this motel, I will just say that it is signed up very small as Village Premier and is better known as a Travelodge
Motel, so watch out you don't go sailing past it like we did -often!!!:p
Can't think of much else but if I can help anymore, just shout
Lin

The Village Premier is On Westwood Boulevard, just off I-Drive at the quieter end. The Village Inn next door is an excellent place to eat and the previous poster is quite correct in that it's very cheap to eat. There are 2 large pools and 2 childrens kind of pools.

The rooms are ok and have exterior doors. I remember being put off at first when we reached our room and there was a swastika carved into the door, but don't let that put you off though !!

Just to let you know that we have just got back from our holiday at the Courtyard by Marriott in Lake Buena Vista. The Virgin meetings which used to take place in the AMC Theatre at Downtown Disney no longer happen. However, a Virgin rep comes to your hotel the morning after you arrive (ours was 8.00am) and speaks to you and whatever other new guests happen to be there. No video, no hard sell on anything.

On another note, we were quite disappointed with the state of Virgin's aircraft this year. On the journey out my husband's seat was broken and he had to move elsewhere for takeoff and landing because the seat wouldn't go upright. On the journey back, the floors were dirty and someone had spilt a drink in the pocket containing all the brochures in front of his seat. Not impressed with them at all. This is about the 7th/8th time we have flown with Virgin. Might have to look at BA next time.

we have been to the Villager Premier twice before and we just changed our hotel to go there again, it seems a bit more quite where it is compared to a lot of other hotels on international drive.

Never had any problems with the rooms and they were always well looked after by the housekeeping and always found teh staff very helpfull.

if you need a taxi ask at reception if brian is still working for the main company that used to do the transfers for them, we used him a few times our last few visits, he is one of the nicest guys we met there and was very helpfull and was always on time.

also the 2 guys that used to work in the pool bar also were very helpfull. even to the point of phoning a local pizza firm for us because they were better and cheaper then the ones they sold there. (flipper pizza i think it was ... very very nice it was too )

Hotel overall is not what you would call luxurious but has everything there u need, i agree about the size of the bathroom being a little small.

mrshnn feel free to email/msg me if you want to know anymore about the Villager Premier i would be more than happy to help

cant wait :D
