We have booked an executive villa through Virgin for our holiday this year, but I notice that they are now stating on their website that cots, highchairs, gas bbq etc will all incrue a local charge (and for our large family that will mean over $350 extra for the 2 weeks!!!). We know (and expect) to pay extra for the pool to be heated if we wish....but cots and highchairs???

I rang Customer Services who really didn't have a clue, the operator was very vague...saying things like 'well, I shouldn't think so'...doh! Our booking request does have 2 x cots and 2 x highchairs on the notes section but I can't find any reference to them costing extra in the brochure I booked through.

Anyone else come across this? What have you been advised?

Oh, and anyone ever stayed in one of Virgins executive villas? What are they like? And does the pool really need heating at the end of April / beginning of May?...we do have 4 children, 2 of which are infants.

Claire. :confused3

Hi,

I haven't booked a villa through Virgin but I know many private villas charge extra for a BBQ but I've never seen extra for a highchair - it doesn't seem very reasonable!

I have to confess I find the pool cold in July (much to amusement of DH, DS & DD)!

Some owners provide a baby package free of charge - others have their man co provide it as its a way of the man co making a little bit extra plus the owners mau feel it is not worth them buying something that may not get used very much .
As for the pool I would say have it heated and if the owner has provided a cover use it .
