I have just upgraded my tickets from PE to UC for our holiday to Orlando on 5 April. We are flying on the 12.45 flight and the plane is smaller as there is no middle isle. Any advice on what seats to go for as currently we have 6A,7A and 8A.

From the pics 6A looks very tight for space.

Am really excited now as have never flown UC. Cannot wait!

Ah my area of expertise! :rotfl:

There is no middle set of UC seats on any of the LGW 747's.

6A, and 6K are the closest seats in the UC suite. We always go for them (and 7A) as with our little un, its best for being close to mummy. (My sig shows him in 6A) Also you get an extra shelf in front of the seat for odds and sods, though no overhead loackers (but theres plenty of space in the cabin regarding lockers anyway)

Who is going with you?

Keep away from the bar on the way home (11 & 12 A & K) as they can be noisy if someone is using that bar and you are trying to sleep.

We prefer being across the isle from each other than next to each other as you can catch the seat change button when talking over the divider.

OBI WARNING! OBI WARNING!

Once you have "turned left" on the aircraft, there is no turning back to the other classes! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Get to the airport for as close as 7am as you can to savor the delights of the Clubhouse as long as possible!

Any other questions, please just ask.
Below are pictures of the cabin (they are slightly out of focus, because always after a couple of hours in the Clubhouse, I am slightly squiffy!!! )

1) looking up from seat 7A to the bar area (G-VROS, "English Rose")

Your pictures are absolutely brilliant and thanks for the help. My sister and I are travelling with my nephew who will be 15. We always fly PE, so we are all really excited to actually be going in UC. It sounds sad but I'm probably more looking forward to the flight at the moment than the holiday, as we've been to Disney tuns of times and love OKW, but this flight will be something new.

Your son looks so cosy, fast asleep - I;m sure I'll manage to get some sleep on this flight!

And that's not even laid out as a bed! that is just the seat configuration.

I will later on upload some piccys of the food you can have on board.
The Clubhouse has a range of hot and cold food as well as a whole range of aloholic and non alcoholic drinks (in the winter, they even have a hot chocolate fountain to help yourself from) as well as the beauty parlour. all this is part of your ticket price.

You will get a shoe bag with bits in it plus they will come round with Virgin Vie products to add to the bags stuff.

On the way home, you will get a sleep suit to wear, a two piece black number which is very comfortable, this you can take home.

The bar is for use as you are flying along, and is normally stocked with fruit juice, water, sweets, fresh fruit, nibbles, plus one of the dedicated FA's will serve you whaterver (so long as its been loaded! :rotfl: ) you want to drink.

I would love to see more pics and many thanks for the info. I love Virgin Vie products as they smell so nice.

We always try for 6A/6K but we have been unlucky on the last couple of trips as they have been taken. I like those seats as they are a little more private. However, I am not sure I would be overly happy sitting in 6A or 6K with a stranger in the other seat, but then that's just me. You'll have a great flight regardless :)

I love that champagne cocktail they do! Can't remember the name - something about a redhead??? Whatever it is, I love it! In February we had an early flight to Barbados and had a delicious cooked brekkie prior to boarding. I also had a pedicure which lasted the whole vacation... I much prefer the LGW Clubhouse to the LHR one - but that might have something to do with the fact I don't have to travel more than 40 minutes to get to LGW... ;)

Have a fab flight - you're going to love it! :thumbsup2

PS: 6A is my seat - love the privacy... :cool2:

 I love the Redhead cocktail! Definitely my favourite too!

I'm surprised you prefer the Gatwick clubhouse, I actually find the new Heathrow one a much more enjoyable experience, it's always been less crowded when I have been there. They had a "mind gym" a while ago too, a great way to work out the mind before a trip!

Ah it's probably the journey - you're a SW person so it's just a hop and a skip across the Thames for you! ;) I'm usually a strung out 'M25 mess' by the time I get to LHR and last time there weren't any Clubhouse seats except in the smoking section! :sad2: Nothing a Redhead cocktail couldn't cure tho'... :cloud9:

Okay who wants to adopt me and my family so we can travel in style. We are very deserving and we would blend in beautifully. Im sure I was born to travel UC:thumbsup2

Wow we love the LHR Clubhouse as it so large, with loads of different areas, I am surprised it is ever so busy you can't get a seat in the non smoking area! The LGW Clubhouse is nice but feels so small and under equipped.

Claire ;)

I agree with Obi. We travelled UC for the first time last October. We were 2 adults, 2 children (aged 6 and 10). We chose 6 A,K, 7 A,K since that forms a nice little family area. You will not be disappointed with UC. My only regret was not finishing my first glass of champagne fast enough before take-off when it was whisked away. Mind you, there is always plenty more where that came from. On the return leg, I managed to sleep almost the entire flight. Those beds make a huge difference.

I am looking forward to our first VA UC flight to Sydney in February. And even more our flight home from Singapore with SA.

Here are a couple of pictures of the gatwick Clubhouse for you Jets fan

Those cute salt and pepper pots are normally errr "liberated" by the passengers :rotfl:

Later on in the flight, you get afternoon tea (or in my case, coffee)

These pictures make me very hungry and even more excited. I think that I'm all hyped up as we've just booked, hopefully I'll calm down a bit over the next few months, or at least until we have to choose our restaurants for the DDP!

Thankyou very much for your help and photos and raising my excitement levels even more, didn't think it was possible, but it appears it is! Really don't know how I'm hoing to wait 10 months.:confused3

Hi

Does anybody know about the Virgin chauffeur service. I understand the UK side for going to Gatwick - they pick you up but that's all I know. I know they will pick us up from Orlando and take us to OKW, then pick us up from OKW and take us to orlando airport and then pick us up at Gatwick and take us home.

What I want to know is:

Where do they drop you off at orlando airport
Where do you meet the driver at Gatwick to take you home

Thanks muchly
Tina

What fare code are your tickets? (J? D? Z?) Or have you paid for the Virgin Chauffeur Service seperately with airmiles?

Alice
