I've been looking at prices for August. If you can make any sense of this, you're a better person than me!

Is it expensive? I havnt flown PE or UC so unsure if this is the case

I always find Virgins pricing really easy to understand, but I could not pay that kind of money for a flight, I have booked 2nd-27th Aug, 3 adults for £1,600 and thats most I have ever paid with Virgin.
PE would be a waste for me anyway, I just slept for 5 hours out of the 7 last night coming home.

Apologies, I didn't explain myself very well. I understand how to read the tables, I just don't understand how they arrive at the pricing. The most expensive day to fly back PE is 31st August, regardless of what day you fly out. The most expensive combination of all is flying out 4th August and back 31st August (£1440).

The most expensive day to fly home Upper Class is 1st September. If I fly out UC on either 31st July or 2nd August and home on 3rd September, the price is £1685 - only £245 more than the most expensive PE price and half the cost of flying home UC 2 days earlier.

Just goes to show the benefit of being able to be flexible with dates.

Debbie - I totally agree about being flexable. I have noticed that if you are flexible there is not much price difference between PE and UC. I tried to upgrade to UC today with VH for November and they are telling my it's not available but it's showing available on the VA site!

I find here in N.I booking with Expedia and flying out of Dublin you can pick up some really good deals some connect in London or Manchester with Virgin or BA, others are with American companies connecting in USA.only reason i booked with Virgin this year was because i am getting free return flights to london.

I think that may be because VH have an allocation of the Z class seats (usually 2). I had problems trying to book 4 UC seats through VH. I had to book PE until VH could request all 4 UC seats from VA...which they did.

Hi Deb,
Its all down to availability of seats, weekends always turn out more expensive anyway with extra suppliments.
As each block of seats is sold, the price goes up basically as the flight fills.

Not bad prices re3ally.
I hope you get the New PE cabin, the changes look good!

Could the price difference be something to do with the August Bank Holiday??
I too cannot justify spending that much money on the flights that's why we're going with economy seats, it's just way too much out of our budget First Choice prices are way better for upgrades
