Last year someone posted on here about an EC ruling about compensation for flights delays over a certain length & distance where the airline was at fault. I recalled a flight to MCO in 2009 that was delayed by 20 hours so applied and filled out the forms.
Initially Virgin declined the claim - saying it was a technical fault due to extraordinary circumstances yet at no point did they ever explain why it was so extraordinary. Last month I took legal action and raised a court claim against them -today they sent me a cheque for over £2100 !!!
Am so happy - after being made redundant last week our holiday in August was a real doubt - but it is right back on track now and for the first time in many weeks can celebrate ..... 67 days to go
