Virgin Mobile Problem...UPDATE they are very sneaky

I just logged into my account online and am seeing that every day around 1:20 a.m. I am being charged $.10 for "XTRAS." Does anyone know what this is about?? Their website has no information that I could find -- I had no idea this was happening.

UPDATE:

After 7 minutes of dinking around with "Simone" who kept asking me what my problem was and repeating the same message I finally got to talke to a human.

Apparently if you access the Xtras even just ONCE you are "opting in" to a $.10 daily charge! That charge will continue to until you opt out...yeah well they say nothing about opting out and you can't do it online. I am getting more and more tired with their sneaky fees.

I'm cheesed at them too. I haven't used my phone since Feb, and I HAD 20 bucks on it. Now it's all gone. In my account is says "Voice" everyday around midnight and they charge 70 cents.. I'll be making a call today!

If you read their website if you sign up for Virgin X-tras (which include downloading certain things, internet access, and E mail it costs 10 cents a day).

AOL instant messaging costs $3.99 a month.

These have to be disabled from the PHONE.

Get used to reading the fine print in your cell phone contracts.

As cheesy as this charge is - and the annoying way it happened to you - I still find Virgin to be about 100x more straightforward than traditional cell phone plans.

Well see I've had the phone for years and in the past I have gone to the Xtras (very very rarely as they are pretty stupid) and it said something about it costing $.10 and that it would cover you for the day. I guess they changed it but I didn't realize it. I searched their whole website and all I found was a thing that says $.10 to browse -- I assumed that meant it only cost you $.10 if you actually browse.

Anyone know about Tracfone? I just want simple simple BASIC. I am not interested in any sort of extra special features, Comedy Central ringtons, nothing. I don't need color screens or camera phones or any of that. Is Tracfone reasonably priced?

I just went and checked DS account. They started taking the .10 out again. I keep checking (when I remember ).

You can update your account online. Sign into your account, go into "my virgin mobile" on the top tool bar, go down to the middle of the page where you should see a box that says Alerts (in black letters) and in the box it has Virgin Mobile, *MTV and Comedy Central Alerts Sign up for more alerts (in red). Click that and it brings you to a page that will tell you if you are signed up for each alert. You can update it right there. Hope that helps.
