Can someone please confirm I'm reading the virgin allowance correctly.

2 x cases 23Kg max each. 158cms max (L+B+H)
1 x hand luggage 6kg each. 23x36x56cm Max.
1 x handbag / camera case ( Small) 1kg each

On transatlantic flights in economy

That's 57kgs of luggage per person

I can see why you all like Virgin so much.

I can see why you all like Virgin so much.

The handbag/camera case allowance is no longer available due to the restrictions on one piece through security at all airports, but the handbag/camera case can still be carried if it fits into the one piece of hand luggage!

The hand bag, camera case etc MUST be inside this piece of hand luggage, not in addition to it.

Between DH and I last year we were about 15KG under the 128KG limit

We used to take one big case each when it was 32kg but now its 23kg we take 3 between us to spread the weight. Last year each case was FULL and they were only about 19kgs each max!

3 of us for 25 nights in August will take 3 x 18-20kg, 2 laptops, 1 camera bag.
inside is 1 spare holdall for anything we buy. DW says she travels light, I never believed her until this thread Always about half the limit, never been anywhere near maximum allowed.

Wow, last Summer husband and I took just under 46kg hold luggage between us for about 18 nights away (I didn't weigh the carry-ons - probably over the wieght limit ). That was DESPITE having an allowance of 2 x 23kg per person (we had an allowance of 3 x 32kg bags person for international flights, but did some internal US flights which only allow 2 x 23kg per person max).

I actually like travelling fairly light (if 23kg a person can be called "light"! ) - less to move around and worry about. I don't tend to take anything which isn't necessary (so not carrying "dead weight"). But I do a little bit of washing (in villa/house), so that helps a lot

Lucy spent some time with her Grandparents - so we didn't have to take extra luggage for her (different this year!).

We travel light out, with one case inside another case, they are always full on the return trip.
