Have just been online at Virgin Holidays to cancel my Universal and Seaworld excursion tickets that I had booked with my holiday.

Had expected an admin charge for this, but they have taken my £189 online booking discount off me. Is this right? Has anyone got any experience with this? When I phoned, the guy told me I would have to phone back tomorrow when the system has been updated, but as far as I can see it already has. :confused3

Have I just thrown money away? :sad1:

Hi Sara,

That seems harsh - I would have thought that you would just pay the admin fee they state for any changes. They do charge for each person so would this have been more or less than the £189.00?

We did make an amendment to our last booking with VH but as we increased the total price there was no admin charge (took off car hire insurance and extra days car hire & ordered WDW tickets).

I would follow up with them - you will get a different adviser and you never know it may pay off.

Good luck,

Tracey

if you make any sort of change to your booking online, then it seems to wipe out all the discounts, if you give them a ring they wil put them back on.

Ask for a manager and complain a lot. I would think a £ 20 or £30 amendment fee would be reasonable.
Virgin are expensive though. Book direct with Disney central reservations next time so much cheaper. We only booked with Virgin once then we saw how much cheaper it is to do it direct. We paid only half the cost last time of a virgin package, saved a fortune.

hiya,

who did you book the flights with? did you find it ok not using a tour operator?

thanks

Their usual admin fee is £25 per person. When I recently made a change I was told that it couldn't be waived, but then I rang back ang got someone different and they only charged £25 x 1 without me asking, so I kept quiet!

its a problem with the website, its done this to me before, you can phone them up, they will add it back on for you.

Thanks everyone. I phoned them and it was just a website thing. They re-calculated my online discount, and put it back on. Website is still not showing this though, but the man assured me it can be seen on his system. :thumbsup2 Feel so much better now!

Sara. :)
