Hmmmm, so no sales as of yet, but will there be any in the next few weeks that will cover LGW-MCO in the autumn? Any thoughts welcome :)

Claire ;)

I am wondering the very same thing! It would be nice to get some cheaper flights than what is currently on offer. Our May flights are £200 cheaper than September at the minute. I know free dining is going to play a part in that, and that flights are reduced to one a day instead of two, but any other month has always been more expensive than September - but not this time around!

Really want this too. Obviously hoping for a price drop (even a teensy one!) but if nothing else I just want them to happen for my dates so I can rule out something happening and can just book regardless.

B loomin crazy prices:confused3.I thought august was bad enough but there has been such a flight fluctuation. I checked last sunday and going the 20th sept for 2 weeks was £1201.Now they are up to £1680:scared1: ina week. Every day they have gone up and down like a yoyo as been checking everyday. Cheapest since last sunday were £1506. Would have booked at £1506 but waiting for a cheque to come then it has to clear so gonna be another ten days for we can book.:sad2:
Spoke to one of those guys on the VA chat blog and he said the flights we were looking at were nearly full BUT on opodo it says availibility good. I never know who to believe and think they hike up the prices and tell you its nearly full to get you to book.Anyway are willing to go on 17,18,19 0r 20th so will wait and see. Sorry for the rant just so frustrating.:scared1::bride::headache:

I know crabbie; it's ludicrous! We can't book yet, and have watched our flights jump from 900 to 1200. I spoke to someone at VA too, and it's our return flight that is messing everything up. If we came home a few days earlier, the flights would be 940. But this trip is only a 10-night-er anyway, due to restrictions on holidays from work, so I'm not about to cut the trip even shorter. It seems later in the month is busier than the beginning of the month.

I wanted to pay now, or even pay 300 more and do PE out, UC on the way back. My mum and sister are convinced they know better though, and that there will 1) be a sale, 2) be cheaper seats and 3) that I am wrong about there being less seats available and that therefore the prices will increase. Oh well, it's my sister paying for the flights, not me! I have a feeling the phrase "I told you so..." might get banded about quite a bit in the upcoming future! ;)

Still no sign of any sales, anyone got any info? I get the feeling though that sales may be few and far between this year :(

Hiya Clare

We have cancelled our annual Florida trip this year :sad1:

Religiously we go every October but this year I decided to buy our flights in the "sale" instead of the release date. BIG MISTAKE !!!!

We always fly PE, and some 2 months after the flights were released they had shot up by £2500.00, thats for the 6 of us, and are still moving onwards and upwards. Currently, it would cost us more to fly ecomony than it did for us all to fly PE last year, it ridiculous :scared1:

Have you been on the V-Flyer forum? I posted a message on there a few weeks back, but the answers I received was not what I wanted to hear. The overall opinion is that this year there is only a slim chance of a sale, this been due mainly to the BA strikes and the fact that Virgin seems the most popular choice at the moment

I know its ridiculous. i am seriously thinking of going indirect.Price is ok its just the luggage allowance is so low.20kg each! Can we pay extra to bring more back does anyone know?:confused3
Disadvantages-smaller plane and uncertainty for me as always flown on VA to usa.Dont like small confined spaces yet find VA jumbo ok. Slightly longer flight(12 hrs going (10.5 going back).
advantages-can fly from birmingham and around £1430 for the 3 of us.:confused3
ah well will wait another few weeks then see how it goes. will get there some how:scared1:

Allowance for VA is one bag at 23kg, first additional bag over this is £32 for up to 23kg if pre booked or £40 if at the airport.

When did this happen:scared1: When I went in 2008 you could have 2 cases each at that weight. Ah wee if thats the case then will def look into indirect.

We are in the same situation, i hate to pay more for Economy than we did for PE last year in September.
