I know there was a thread on child seats a while back but I was wondering if anyone has now had experience of using these.

I am talking about the seats that Virgin will supply for use on the plane - I remember someone posted a photo!

We will be travelling with a 2-year old and any information wrt pros and cons of having the seat installed would be gratefully received!

Thanks

Our DD used one when she was 19 months

Pro's : they are safe and comfortable, the child can eat, sleep, drink, watch their own TV, use the table for a colouring book etc. leaving the adults more comfortable in their own seat.

con's : can't think of any - it really made the long flight much easier

Hi there - I think I may have been the person that posted the photo a few months ago :D Boy, that last holiday seems a long time ago now...

As Alec mentioned, they work very well indeed, and our little guy at 12 months old was very comfortable. He was able to watch Shrek between naps, and the time passed very quickly for us all. Much better than struggling with a skycot during the periods of turbulence, too.

Make sure you book the seat in advance, and let the cabin crew know this when you board. They will then install it for you to make sure everything is secure.

Thanks for the advise guys

I'll ring Virgin today to organise!

Cheers

We have a 2 1/2 year old flying for the first time...do you think it would be a good idea for her to have one of these seats or would she be to old
Thanks

The care chairs are meant to be usable up to 36 months, so why don't you book one anyway? If your daughter seems uncomfortable or too big for it you can always ask for it to be removed and use the standard seat.

Hi

We used one in June for our 15mts old and my friend used it for her 21mts old, it is like a carseat and it worked really well.

I think Virgin could do with some new ones as they have seen some better days but otherwise they are great.

Make sure you book it for the return flight as well, and when you get on the place the cabincrew will install it for you...

Cheers
Nat
