VIP Tour Worth It or Will Genie +/ ILL Be Enough

Hi! I’m planning our group trip for special birthday celebration and booked a VIP Tour. Just wondering, with the launch of Genie+ if this will still be worth it? We have four full park days and want to hit all the headliners. Our April 2020 trip was cancelled and I don’t know how to approach all this Disney change!

G+ still adds a lot of planning work to optimize the stacking strategies. For a carefree day with LL access at all times, VIP will still have significant advantages over G+/ILL$ In terms of LL access. The question is whether that is worth the value of VIP prices you will have to make that call.

I am not sure they are really comparable. The VIP is like a minimum of 3k while g+ is like $16. If you just want to ride on rides, I am not sure the VIP is worth it. When making big decisions like this, I sometimes reverse the cost as someone giving you money. For example, if someone offered you 3k to go to Disney and have to stand in line for rides would you do it? Or would you rather have that person keep their money and go to all the rides that you want. Good luck! Sometimes I would rather pay for it, but other times, it wouldn't be worth it.

Based on results this week, G+ and ILL should be enough to handle getting on every ride. If you go during holiday time that may be different, but for now you can easily get every ride in just utilizing the G+ and ILL reservations.

Whether you want to spring for a guide or not to make it a little easier is up to you but it is not necessary to get on the rides at least this week anyway.

Things VIP offers that Genie+/ILL does not:

1). Pick-up/drop-off at your resort
2). Private transportation to and between the parks
3). Access to LL multiple times on the same ride (except, I believe RoR and Remy which is only once per tour)
4) Preferred seating at shows, except CP
5) Dedicated viewing areas for Enchantment and Harmonious

If those perks are worth the cost of VIP vs. Genie+/ILL, I would stick with VIP. If your goal is to simply ride all of your preferred rides at least once during your trip, I would probably cancel VIP.

If money is no object, then clearly you would choose their VIP package. For everyone else, you can pay for Genie and the extra options to get on the most popular rides with less waiting. Don't really think they are comparable products.
