VIP Tour Review

My understanding is that these tours are done in mixed groups where you are taken in a group on the tour.

:earsboy: Bill

Oh bill, that makes sense. I don't know why I didn't figure that out myself. Like the group fireworks cruises are cheaper. Pshaw, don't want to do that then.

Years ago I saw an article about Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones taking their kids to Disney World. I wondered how on earth they got away with that without getting mobbed by people. Now I know! :)

We have seen a lot of celebrities at WDW. Especially in the area for Fantasmic; we were surrounded by NFL players.

If I ever won the Powerball I would so do this. Then again, if I ever won the Powerball I would be living at Golden Oak. I could only wish...:genie:

drnb, I'm also interested in the same type of tour that you did. I'm just wondering, what exactly is it called? In other words, when you called to book it what did you ask for?
I know of the VIP tour "for families with young kids" and the "thrill seekers" tour, neither of which interested me. I wasn't aware that you could do a tour that is customized to just what your family chooses to do.
So, again, what exactly did you ask to book when you called?
TIA,

Karen

It is the private premium vip tours. Prices are per hour and vary with time of year, there is a discounted rate if you are staying onsite. Minimum time is 6 consecutive hours. Link for info: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/vip-tour-services/

Hi Karen, I called 407-560-4033 and asked for the private premium tour. They will quote you the cost per hour depending on the time of year it is. In the off season it could be $360, but up to $500 in peak season. I know it used to change depending on if you are staying on site, but when I called they told it didn't matter anymore so that may be new or maybe i just got an misinformed rep (I stayed at the Swan for this trip).

They will ask for details like number of people in your party, ages, gender, etc. They asked if I had a gender preference for the guide, and any special occasions we were celebrating. I told them I wanted someone good with kids, and they said they would match us up with the appropriate guide, which I think they did. You give them a credit card to hold the reservation but they won't charge it until the tour is over and they know how many hours you took. You can cancel ahead of time without penalty, as long as its within the timeframe they spell out for you. I actually did email in a list of rides I wanted to do ahead of time and ran it by them to make sure my plan would fit within the 6 hours. They said it would and it did, so that was accurate.

Thank you so much baler31 and drnb, that is exactly the info I was looking for.

I did a VIP tour at Universal years ago. It was only like $120 for the whole day per person. You went with others but we probably only had maybe 8 people in our group (and we were three of the group). It started with a light snack and bottled water. The guide took us to the attractions which were walk ons. Although it was different, I admit I prefer the tour the park on my own and I'll never do a tour again. Going through back entrances , missing the themed ques just took away some of the magic for me. And for $400 an hour, there is no way I'd waste that for the experience even if I had the money. For me, the magic of disney is walking down main street prior to a character meal and then heading out to the attractions we like best. Short lines are awesome, but I think with planning and fast pass that can be arranged without a tour. Also, for those prices they should escort you in a limo. That's just my personal thoughts.
