Who do I contact for this service with a regular room package? We usually stay DVC so I usually contact Memeber Services, but this trip we are staying at ASMo..Thanks:goodvibes

Call the hotel direct and call them again the week before. We weren't advised about the calling to remind them and got to a filthy room (as in not deep cleaned at all and finding other peoples things in the rooms).

In my opinion, a VIP cleaning should not be required to not find other people's things in your room.

Completely agreed! I could not believe it :( One would think that would be covered under a normal cleaning. Was very unhappy about the whole stay at BCV :(

I requested a VIP cleaning for our 1/24 check in for my son with severe respiratory and contact food allergies. I was told they would try but can't guarantee anything. I sincerely hope the cleaning is done when we check in so we don't have to live connected to a nebulizer for our entire stay.

I would again be sure to call the week and then maybe even a few days before. We were seriously disgusted by the room but by that time I had already done my cleaning of the kitchen and I didn't want them in our space as I had already unpacked all our food and all. It was truly not the greatest way to start our vacation.

Call before!!

I would definitely call back, they definitely need to do a deep cleaning if requested for a disability, as that is a reasonable accommodation.

Thank you both for the feedback! I will make sure to call the week before and also the day before we check in to make sure the room gets a VIP cleaning. I will explain to them the need is medical and hopefully they will take the request seriously. Thanks again!

My husband has kidney failure and we did dialysis in the room when we were there in May. We had the VIP cleaning which was great and made us feel better about the general amount of germs, etc. in the room. Just a reminder that if you get a VIP cleaning you will not be able to change your room when you get there because the VIP cleaning takes several hours.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is VIP cleaning, and how much does it cost?

1) The service is free.
2) However, there are two levels of VIP-Cleaning.
3) You need to describe your symptoms for WDW to select which one to perform.
4) And, no, I can't go into details of each level.
5) Just like I can't go into the three levels of VIP-Guest-Status.

NOTE: When company execs, such as Ogre (I mean Iger) come to stay, they automatically
get the better version of VIP-Cleaning. And, one should see what is cleaned and replaced !!!
Obviously he is a Level-1 VIP, but the extra services are really something to behold. About the
only thing that doesn't get cleaned are the mattresses, that is because they are exchanged
for brand new ones, right out of the wrappings!

Wow. Interesting.
The only thing that makes me worry about that is then he has no idea what the people get. He should get a regular room- and if he is not happy with that clean- make it better for his guest.
But that is just too idealistic. He doesn't really care. I just wish he did.

My DS has asthma (usually only triggered when traveling, thus our Disney cruise was not a fun time with him developing a severe case of Bronchitis triggered by it). He almost always needs a nebulizer when we go away, so I had requested this for our trip to the BWI a few years ago.

Yes, it's true, that when you check in, they are working on your room, so NO upgrades or room changes (and I was disappointed actually, since they were going to offer us to upgrade for a fee to concierge level).

They steam clean the carpet, change the A/C filters, change out any soft goods like quilts (back in the day).

It turned out to be the best thing ever. That trip, he only needed to use his nebulizer one time. He breathed so much better than most trips!

PS: He is now a high school senior, and we traveled over Thanksgiving to visit family (usually don't), and he spent the whole week after Thanksgiving out with an asthma attack. It was awful.

If you have any breathing issues, I would recommend it! It helped so much! My DS is older now, and it's more rare for him to have issues, but for sensitive ones it's worth it!

I think they take the request seriously, but they cannot guarantee that there will be no triggers left behind.

For the last 2or3 trips we have had VIP cleaning. It was curious last trip we went to POP for the first night and they had an air purifier in our room. At POR we didn't have one and never have in all trips. We always bring our own for the room. Stay on top of it. At POP we arrived at 7pm to the hotel and the room still wasn't ready and they had to "check" to see if it was cleaned. I doubt they really cleaned it and just stuck the purifier in there. My son was reactive that night. Call the hotel directly when booking, the week of, and make sure at check in that it hasn't been overlooked. Never again will we go to POP even for the one night.

We always pack our son's hepa filter. (of course we drive the 1k miles so that might make a difference if your flying) Once we arrive we take a couple swifter cloths and wipe everything down, turn the hepa filter to high and head to downtown Disney or swim depending on the weather. Usually when we return the room is much fresher and only need our 2x a day nebulizer meds. We have never had a problem with mouse keeping turning it down or off. We always turn it back to high when we head out to the parks.

The last time we were at Disney I witnessed the "VIP cleaning" of our room (because they had to unexpectedly move us) and it consisted only of wiping down all of the surfaces with water (as opposed to a cleaner with chemicals). I was definitely unimpressed, and figured it wasn't even worth it to request it again.

Based on prior posts, though, I'm wondering if there is something else I should be requesting? DD has asthma and a severe dairy allergy, fwiw.

I have not requested a VIP cleaning, but have read recommendation to specify what your family needs as a VIP cleaning. While one guest may need to avoid commercial cleaners, another may need surfaces cleaned with Clorox or Lysol; one may need filters changed, another may not. I suggest being specific in making the request so they know YOUR expectations/needs.

Enjoy your vacation!
