On previous trips I have seen families with under 3 year olds being given VIP breakfast cards meaning they could turn up whenever they like and do nt have to go at an appointed time. We have never had children before but on our next trip will have our baby boy who will be 18 months, does this still occur?

the VIP breakfast seems to be given out randomly as far as I'm aware - we've had it once on a short trip to the Santa Fe, no toddlers in our party :confused3.

I may be wrong but I thought the VIP breakfast passes were for guests staying 6 or more nights simply means that you don't have a time slot for breakfast, go when you want.

some places are saying 5 or more nights and others are saying 6 nights or more, I hope its 5 nights because I got 5 nights booked for next feb lol

I still think its random ;) - my VIP breakfast slots were on a 3-night stay .

The last two times we both stayed 6 nights and get VIP breakfast without asking at the SQL.

Next time we will stay 5 nights and I hope to get VIP breakfast too, because its fantastic not to wait for breakfast.

:thumbsup2

Every time we've stayed 5+ nights we've got VIP breakfast thrown in, the one time I stayed 4 nights it wasn't offered, so I asked and got it :)

A CM also told me once that because I was staying a fair few times in the same year at the SL, that we got it due to that.

It depends on which hotel you are talking about...

For SQL and NPBC, they are given in priority for suites guests.
For SQL, these cards have permitted to switch the queue for breakfast, but now all suites residents belong to GFC private breakfast so I do not know if these passes exist anymore.

For NPBC, the VIP breakfast is private and takes place in the captain's quarter bar (only for suites guests).

I do not know if these cards exist for NY and DLH (I don't think so because in these hotels you can take your breakfast whenever you want) and for the two keys hôtels...

Thanks for all your replies. We have been for 5 nights numerous times but never been offered it so presumed it was for people with young children as that is who I saw using it. We have stayed at New York hotel twice and had breakfast slots both times unless this has changed since December 2011?

My friend was given a VIP breakfast card at the Santa Fe when she went in April this year. She was there with just her and her husband and they were only staying three nights. So i think it truly is random.

She said it was great to have as it meant she wasn't restricted on when they could go for breakfast, but she really disliked being ushered to the front of the queue - the first day this happened she said that if looks could kill, she'd have been killed by about 20 people!

For the rest of the stay, she kept the VIP card well hidden until it was her turn to be seated! :rotfl:

the last couple of years they have introduced breakfast slots at HNY however we rarely make it on time and have never been refused entry :rotfl:

does anyone know if they are stricter with the breakfast slot times at SL?

I've had them a few times. Some times just given to us at check-in and other times I've just asked for them.

Seems to me it's just totaly random.

Last time I was there (last december) they were strict.
People who were in advance regarding their slot cards were politely (but clearly) invited to come back at the good hour.

We have been 5 times with an under 3 and never been given a VIP pass. We also always go for 5 nights and again have never been given a VIP pass

We've always had an under 3 on all of our trips and never had VIP breakfast pass, we stayed at SQL this year in June for 5 nights and didn't get one then either.

Its random - we had it and we stayed for four nights in the Sequoia and there was only two of us :) You can phone and request it though.

It's random at the hotels. I have it had all times I stayed in SL and we haven't childeren. I do have a Annualpass and have stayed a couple of times at SL and other Disney hotels. Always got it with out asking. IF you have a VIP pass for breakfast you can at any time walk by the line of people waiting until be seated and go to the front of the line and show the card. You will be seated next before the people waiting in line.
