Violent Fatigue

Are you taking any other medications?

One of my blood pressure meds slows my pulse WAY down and sometimes I feel totally exhausted. I can nap a short while and feel OK after that.

Good luck figuring it out.

by all means have a very complete work-up!
I have fibromyalgia, so I know fatigue too. The best thing for me has been a supplement drink powder (AIM Peak Endurance) , that is marketed as a sports drink, but the main ingredient is ATP which is the currency of every cell in our bodies.
I buy it online http://www.atpconnection.com

it can be used as an adjunct to any prescribed medicine etc.

I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea a few months ago & I pretty much experienced what you describe as violent fatigue -- several times a day (particularly in the late afternoon) I was so tired that it was almost like I was passing out all the time... if not stimulated, I felt like my eyes would roll right up in my head.

I just wanted to lie down anywhere -- last year at WDW I had recurring fantasies about lying down in the middle of the pathway and just waiting for paramedics to haul me away.

Anyway, here is what I am wondering: how long ago did this start happening? Did it happen gradually, or all of a sudden? Did you had any other health issues that happened around that time (flulike symptoms, a virus, headaches, whatever)? Have you ever felt this way before? Was there anything else in your life that happened around the time you first experienced symptoms (any difficult personal life events, major life changes, etc.)? What has your doc tested, specifically?

I have thought it had something to do with my brother having cancer. It started the week he died. I gained 25 lbs in ONE~ WEEK, no joke. And 25more gradually, but over about a month. That was huge and fast... but NO DOCTOR will even consider it, other than offering me anti-dep meds. I really thought it was some physical-chemical trigger, but got nowhere with any docs on that.
Adrenals- checked, but idiot doc got results back and said some crap about no matter if the results are high or low there is no normal anyway. Jerk.
Diabetes, tested.
Thyroid, levels ok with meds. (that whole thing is a big debate in itself)
lyme disease, tested.
Some vitamin levels, tested cant recall which... doc wont go there again.
basic blood draws, normal.

Not sure whatelse.. but a lot. I have asked for every test I come across.
I also had terrible hives for a full year when this all started. Never did figure that out... all allergy tests were normal.

Man this sounds like me including the weight gain!

My complaints were:
**Memory loss (seems to be short-medium term). I got lost a block from my house more then once. I have lived here for almost 3 years!
**Weight gain (probably 75 pounds in the last 3 years)
**Tiredness (seems to be worse since last March/April and got really bad in May/June.) It varies day to day. This last week at least twice I slept at least 20 hours over a 24 hour period. Some days for no reason I have insomnia but the tiredness out weights it by far.

My hematologist tested me for a bunch of stuff. My iron wasn't working right... but he fixed it and if anything I felt worse :( I would feel good for 1-2 days after a iron transfusion and quickly go down hill :( I told him but he said all my blood work (which he did do intense testing) was fine.

Every test you had done, I had done.... and all came back fine. Soooo I dunno. :( No hives, so I guess thats a good thing. :confused3

Judy from Boise... Do you buy this online where you directed me, or do you buy it here locally?

There are so many different things it could be, but often doctors are reluctant to really "search" and simply try to pass it off to "depression".. Just keep looking - and be forceful about it.. If your doctor is poo-pooing your symptoms, find another - and another - and another - until SOMEONE finally listens to you and looks for a deeper cause..

Hope you fell better soon! :goodvibes
