Violence and racism has no place in VMK

My screens are of violence I was talking with SkippyPaul after this and he said he has screens of someone being racist to him.

I hope that he will post them.


My incident happened at 12:30pm est.

He's right about that, I've witnessed it many times and the sad part is, One is a younger dis member who constantly batters him for wearing cowboy attire and having dark skin, "cause he's never seen a black cowboy"
and if you report you get the usual click ignore and move to another room.

Mal, I am so glad that you reported it.

I had somebody cuss at me for not winning the 2nd round in pirates. I was like....what the???? it is only a game.
By the way - I reported them and got the message that I could be banned for making a false report.

I hope that when these people are banned from VMK it is their IP address and not just email address.

I was in a room that looked like NYC (actually, it did look very cool with billboards and herbie couches, etc. Anyway, someone said that they were going to bomb the building and then they said they were going to fly a plane into the building. I told them that it was wrong and hurtful to say that and I had friends who didn't make it from that day. They kept making jokes and saying that they live in the city that it happened, so big deal.

I reported and waited around to see if anything happened. I don't know what happened. My jaw just hit the floor. I couldn't believe it. What was even more disturbing is that people were actually "lol" here and there. Who are these people who think that was funny? It's puzzling.

The person who made that room did a really good job. I just wished she would have booted that guy or at least said to cool it. Her reply, I believe, was that it was "just a joke".

My two cents for what it is worth....

I have a character on VMK who could be considered African-American or Black (Depending on your generation) and I can't tell you the number of times I have had some very hateful things said to that person.

It is also interesting to watch people who I know are DIS interact with the character. I know they do not know it is me and it is kind of scary to see some reactions.

It makes me step back and think about the fact that some more inclined to accept people of green, pink, purple, orange, blue or green color first.

The racism was not in those shots, I think I have repeated it several times that the racism was not at me but at another member of the DIS and he will have to post screens if he so chooses too.

I was just commenting on violence and racism in VMK neither belong there.

It was two people not just one...and what was most disturbing about the whole thing is they thought it was truly funny and kept saying it over and over.

They did disappear but I am not sure it was because of VMK or because they entered another game.


I have come to expect "Rude" chatter in Pirates but I usually will report only very bad language and talk but not all rude chatter.

A lot although it is rude is not in my Opinion reportable.

I have never personally seen this type of violent talk(although other members have reported seeing it) I could not believe what I was reading.

Then to get a message from VMK that I had already made one report, yes agreed but not on both players.

I realize that if they read the Chat they saw both of them saying the violent talk but for record I think we should be able to report any and all involved. JMHO

What, Mal, you want logic in VMK moderation? Puleeze! You know first hand how inconsistent it is. I won't hold my breath for those promised changes.

Well you'd be surprised...my main character's skin tone is pink (and has been for quite awhile now) and I've had some VERY nasty things said to me as a result. Never happened when when I had her skin white.

Maybe this is part of the reason that I only play pirates for quests...I can't believe the nasty things some of you guys are seeing out there! I was disgusted when a guest was being particularly lecherous, and so reported him, but I would have been truely floored to read some of the things you all have mentioned. Sorry you've experienced that - I hate when others ruin Disney magic.

I think every vmk player has a sense of what is right and what is wrong. I couldn't believe what the players said to you when you told me yesterday on the pirate dock.
Mal I took like 4 screen shots of this so called fellow Dis member. Unfortunately because of anger only this one remains.
Ppl you wont see what he says to me here in this screen shot. He is circled in red. I can tell you exactly when this started with this guy. When Scooterjake (brother) and I got back from vmk central and met Yavn, and yavn gave Scooter and I inferno. THAT is when this started. So its all out of jealousy, imagine that. Some guy is controlled to hurt others only because of stupid virtual items. I posted our trip here and mentioned getting infero....not to brag but to show what a nice guy Yavn is in spite of what I read ppl say about him on the boards. Another story huh.
That is when this guy started to target myself and Sweet on vmk. The things he calls her is horrible to, and has the nerve to call me a so and so black cowboy. PPl forget there is a soul behind that little avatar and that little avatar was created as close to me as possible. Yes I am dark that is why that cuts so deep.
So ppl, pls dont say you dont see the comments from him, I have seen them to many times. Plz dont tell me to ignore, I've ignored until Im blue in the face. Plz dont tell me to report, it does no good. Maybe vmk likes a balance of good and evil.
This is why I get so angry when I hear ppl worrying about ppl pretending to be animals, or playing virtual house, or TAKEN! There are so many other hurtful things going on in our disney kingdom why worry about those things? Funny I have always sort of looked out for the under dog, took up for those players and now one comes around to bite me in the but every time he sees me and I do mean every time.
Mal thank you for letting me vent here. Your a very good person. I hope they catch your little bandits and boot them in to another kingdom.

Rob I am really sorry that happened to you. Truly I am...and though my real skin tone is white and I go by pink skin in VMK, I'm actually Hispanic and seeing things like this truly infuriates me since I know the battles my family has faced because of where we come from. However, I would like to explain why I "worry" about things like taken, bay be, etc. I do realize that there are very serious issues happening on VMK, I've experienced them. Personally, I believe that what VMK allows to be "gotten away with" in small matters only allowed the breeding of much bigger matters such as this. So for me, yes I do "worry" about those issues and I'm sorry it makes you so angry, but I personally believe that if VMK got on the ball with these things, perhaps they'd be more attentive to bigger issues as well. I can't trust that they'll be able to handle situations like violence & racism if they won't even do something about things that are potential time bombs. You feel differently on these issues, and that's ok. And I think we have to remember that is IS ok that people feel differently on that matter.

Anywho, it is very disturbing to me to see what goes on. And what's more disturbing is seeing the response (or lack thereof) that VMK has given. But again, how can I trust they'll handle the bigger issues if they rarely, if at all, take a stand on the smaller ones?
