Vinylmation Codes?

I am an avid Vinylmation collector, and I recently heard that there's a way to find out what specific vinylmation design is in a box without opening it. I don't want to cheat the system, and I understand it's slighly frowned upon but I'm looking for specific pieces and I'd rather not rely on eBay for me to get them. If someone who knows how to tell would be kind enough to send me a private message explaining how the barcodes work, I would be most appreciative. I'm on my way to Disneyland now and I'm hoping I get a response by the time I arrive. Thanks guys!
