Villians Sinister Soirée

I have read two different detailed accounts of this event. One account said that there would be a souvenir Malificent cup filled with candy at each table setting and then another account said that there was only one souvenir Malificent cup in the middle of each table filled with candy when you arrive at your table. Can someone who has been to this event please confirm which is correct? I know everyone is suppose to get the souvenir cup but I was just wondering if everyone gets the candy or if the one cup of candy must be shared. Also, if. anyone can tell me what types of candy are provided, they would be great. Just wondering if the candy provided at this event is different from the candy they pass out at the trick-or-treat locations in the park.

Thank you very much for any responses.

The pictures I saw showed a cup filled with candy at each seat - and for that price, they darn well better be giving a cup to each attendant.

In the review posted a few posts up you can see the pictures of the cups, and if you look closely you can see another cup behind it.

Each seat had a dragon cup filled with candy. The candy is the same as they give out for trick or treating. It was an assortment of candy and included mini candy bars, m&m's, air heads, lemon heads, tootsie rolls, now & laters, etc.

How quickly what line flows? To get into the castle? It moved fairly quickly once the door was opened. The did have cast members outside checking people in and walking through the line making sure everyone had their party together and stuff like that. It basically was a character meal but with villains and desserts.

yes, exactly what I was wondering. Glad to hear it moves quickly, all the more reason not to arrive too early.

Did you only read Pete's account of the night? Several others said they had plenty of time. I watched videos people were posting to Youtube, and the characters seemed to spend the same amount of time at your table that the Princesses at CRT do, more than enough time for a photo and some chatter. The only part that sounded rushed was the entrance with the plushy Villains.

Mr Werner's indicated a brisk pace, although as I stated before - we rarely spend more than an hour at a character meal. I certainly give more credence to what I consider expert opinions, he is usually spot on and balanced in his reviews.

I did look at links posted here but not many. IMO there is always the cheerleader factor to balance out. Once a larger volume of reviews start to roll in when the party is more heavily attended and Disney has the opportunity to tweak what doesn't work, then I will decide if the event is worthwhile to us.

Thus far, the closest thing to picture opportunity with character in CRT area I saw was a kid standing on a chair with villain in background. will def go search on youtube though, hadn't thought of it, thank you.

Don't remember where but there were plenty of first hand accounts of guest saying the characters took their time interacted and took pictures. I even saw picture with some sitting down talking to guest..

ooh good, thank you. If you will be at the party will you make sure to come back & post your thoughts?

Angel Ariel - I got the impression from mr. werner's review that while the characters were amazing (and aren't they always?:thumbsup2) the handlers were rushing them along.

I got more than an impression--he pretty much said it. Both in his written review and on the podcast. He heaped praise on the characters themselves, but otherwise thought the entire event was rushed and would benefit by being 30 minutes longer.

Sadly I won't be there until 9/28 so I'm also waiting on more reports also but I will come back and share my thoughts andimpressions after we go..

Cheerleader factor? I tend to feel the bias on boards like this is toward emphasizing the negative. I've read several PPs who said they didn't feel rushed. And we are never longer than 1hr at any character meal -- like you -- we don't want to be. We have other things to do party night! Personal preferences... :)

This is the same point I was trying to make last week with the example of blockbuster movies and early reviews from pre-screenings that tend to be overwhelmingly positive. The bias on boards may be negative, but blog posts I think tend to be more rah-rah.

An hour for a character meal would not be enough for my group--we would feel rushed. As you say though, personal preferences....

Just as when critics say go see it greatest movie ever.. Then I go and it sucked.. But to each his own what I might say was great you might saw it stunk..

I guess I feel like I've heard of MANY movies being panned in early screenings/reviews. I probably don't pay close enough attention though -- to early movie reviews or blog posts.

There are so many movies I've loved that "critics" hated and vise versa -- I put very little (if any) stock in them. Honestly, same with reviews of anything. I listen for the facts (eg how many desserts, how long, what characters) and leave aside the opinions entirely (too fast, not enough characters, etc) -- decide what I think about that set of facts and how WE would like it. :)

Considering how many they have to get through in a short amount of time I wouldn't expect a lot of time. I am excited there is a cheese plate as I live cheese. My dd will be excited about the stirrers and glow cube
