It's coming to Magic Kingdom!!!!!!!
How amazing!!!!
How amazing!!!!
Finally MY PEOPLE! will have their place of respect! It's coming to Magic Kingdom!!!!!!!
How amazing!!!!
My bet is that they are going to build it where the steamboat goes around Tom Sawyer Island, fill the river in, redirect all that water elsewhere, and connect into the new land to the right of BTMRR.
Love this!! Great armchair imagineering! Finally MY PEOPLE! will have their place of respect!
I am beyond thrilled!!

I will guarantee there are way more Villains fans (with money to spend) than there are Princess fans. If they want to make it perfection give us a Character meal!!!
Thank you Universal Epic Universe. I think the HUGE fanfare and the incredible previews of their Monster Land helped push this out of Blue Sky in the "promise" phase.
Yeah, DS and I hunkered (and he's good at this stuff right down to land measurements) and predict they will shorten the river making it a tighter oval loop. Pull the back end of Tom Sawyer that they don't use away to add peninsula to back land. Build boardwalks like there are along Frontierland on both sides, HM side and BTM side (to not interfere with riverboat) to the "beyond" area. Carsland on the south "behind" BTM and Villains land to the north "behind" Haunted Mansion. Both a great thematic fit as you walk in. Add a train station stop back there between Cars and Villains.
Our armchair imagineering is this (yes we have done this with every announcement for over a decade).
~ Dark grey I cut river through island behind fort which is not used. Riverboat can do that circle.
~ Green is the land that will fill in for the two lands.
~ To the left is Carsland, to the right is Villains land.
~ Red dot is train station giving access to both lands.

Mary Poppins would be so coolI’m excited for this but until it’s being built I’m a little skeptical. I’m still annoyed the Mary Poppins ride got scrapped after being announced
Well looks like I was partially right, just not bold enough!!Finally MY PEOPLE! will have their place of respect!

The nighttime parade has been missed. I loved the electrical parade. So excited for this and a nightime parade!!!
I don't know it seems too dark for my taste, when I go to WDW I want something cheerful and nostalgic.
Well looks like I was partially right, just not bold enough!!
Blog post today says Carlands will be Frontierland (aka closer) and Villains will be Beyond BTMM. So the land farther off. It appears ALL OF THE RIVER AND TOM SAWYER ISLAND WILL BE GONE!!! The blog says it kindly ... they will make way for Carsland. So no need for boardwalks or pathways because Carsland will be right there as extension of Frontierland. Funny cause about a decade ago a friend who worked at MK said inside convo was Frontierland was a waste, nothing but a walkway to SM and BTMM. The only way to enhance Frontierland was go big, so they did.
And Villains will be past that, so my equal left right is looking to be more close and far ... which makes sense so you can do Villains with forced perspective.

Oh well. Growth and expansion are a good thing. Turning high maintenance non-cash generating space into a very well received IP attractions and land is a good thing. Bringing Villains fans what they've wanted for decades is a good thing. They are building for all ages and that is a good thing.I know people are upset about this.
YES YES YES!My thoughts are that the original RoA and TSI are still going to be in Disneyland. MK doesn't need to be a carbon copy of Disneyland. It can have it's own identity and I think this and Villains are a huge step in that direction.
Also, the drawing is gorgeous so this land has the potential to be just beautiful in person. The new frontier!
This. I have heard this complaining more than once and I simply don't understand it. It won't be any scarier than Haunted Mansion or MNSSHP. They are not going full horror with this, they learned their lesson with Alien Encounter. While the concept art does look kind of "intense," I have a feeling it won't actually be all that dark. Disney Villain's aren't necessarily "scary" and tend to have a bit more of a cartoony vibe. We all know the actual land isn't going to look like the concept art in the end.
I kind of compare this to how Disney has the "non-scary" Halloween event while Universal has the more adult one. I feel like Disney will have the more family friendly villains area, while Universal has Dark Universe which will have a darker vibe. But I could be wrong. We'll see.
Agree but I do hope they take some risks. It will be sitting fairly independent so folks who don't like Villainous activity can easily avoid. Not every land is for everyone.This. Villain stans are pretty hardcore and we turn out for any kind of villain programming in the parks. They give us crumbs and we swoop in like a buncha goth pigeons. But also, among gp there is a huge appetite for villains especially the Millennial and Gen Z set. My Twitter feed was going insane over this announcement and friends of mine who only ever set foot in a Disney park maybe once as kids were telling me they want to go now just to see this. The last time I heard that kind of talk was when Galaxy's Edge was announced.
This is an idea whose time is long overdue imo. Hopefully it will get the budget it deserves and won't die the death of a thousand cuts.
I hope so too, and I am holding onto that pitch as well, but this is a very, very tight needle they have to thread. There is a demographic of people for whom villain anything will be a hard sell. I have already seen some deeply hysterical (in both senses of the word) comments floating around. I am just hoping we are louder.Agree but I do hope they take some risks. I'm holding on to Josh's words ...............
"The evil ambition of all these Villains means that the possibilities are endless for the stories that can be told — and visitors to the dark and thorny land should be prepared for whatever chaos might come their way. The new land will encompass all your dreams- er, nightmares. The space will be home to two major attractions, dining, and shopping on an incredibly twisted grand scale." "Be prepared, you poor unfortunate souls,” Josh teased. “It’s going to be a fearless new vision for what a Disney experience can be.”
