Villas at the Grand Floridian Presale to Begin May 25th?

Does anyone know how the member pricing in the past has compared to the pricing when it was released to the public? Can we expect to see the $145 pt for the June 19th release or do they typically change it?

My guide told me the price would go up to $150 on June 19th.

Wow! Check out those points for a 3BR during Christmas week!! OUCH!!!

It's funny how things vary based on perspective.

For those of us who frequent VGC, the VGF points charts look like a bargain, for the most part. Many rooms during some seasons are less per night than at VGC.

And that Christmas GV you mention? For that week in VGC it's 1358 points, so the 1419 at VGF seems right in line. Not that I'll ever be using either in my lifetime!

Anyone's guide mention incentives? I haven't called yet.... my email never came either. tsk, tsk guide!:duck:

Some of the guests I've seen at the Grand Floridian will not have a problem meeting these points/prices. Whew!

Yes my guide says up to 150 when open to public and I specifically asked about incentives and he said not yet.

My guide just called me. No incentives right now, just the straight $145/point.

Is it me or is the price kind of low for all the anticipation? It almost seems like they don't think sales will take off so they are pricing it lower.

Is it even worth buying at $145? Or are you better off waiting for incentives at $150? :confused3

DH just spoke with our guide. He mentioned the studio will be very small for 5 people, but the 1 bedroom has a sliding bathroom door with two different showers. Now this is where I got confused and hope someone else spoke to their guide. He said our guide told him that only those who own at GF will be able to book at GF?:confused3

The past few resorts have never opened sales with their best deal

No need to, there will be enough buyers as soon as DVD sends out their email blast.

After things slow down, the deals will increase.

This seems unlikely. It would change the existing contract in place with all other DVC owners unless VGF isn't part of DVC. And, if true, it means that if you purchase at VGF, how could you trade out? If there's no one to trade in to take your points, you can't use your points elsewhere.

I think that was wrong. What I agree could be very true is, it will be difficult to impossible to book at VGF if you don't own there.

I agree 100%.

Which makes me wonder why they priced it so low to start, rather than milking it for all it's worth, esp with those "have to have it NOW" type of buyers.

The guide might mean only GF owners can book when booking first opens up. They usually get a couple weeks before it is open to non-home resort owners at 7 months.

Studio for 5 people? Is that right? What is the bed configuration?

I completely agree with you. I am wondering if our guide meant when the booking of rooms opens giving the normal few weeks to book for owners then everyone else. It seemed so strange to me and was hoping he was told to DH wrong.

With the studios sleeping 5, I think there will be a large demand for them. I know I would not want to sleep 5 in one, but I bet a lot of people will (adding demand for them). Also with them only having I think 47 lock-off studios and no dedicated studios, the studios at GF are going to be very very hard to get.

Yes, I was thinking about buying a small amount of points at VGF just for short studio stays -- but I'm really worried about them booking up too fast.

Has anyone seen any floor plans?
Does anyone know if Oct 2013 will the the first UY?
