Villages Nature presentation
Villages Nature is a project of a new holiday destination on a European scale, for short- and mid-term stays, and will be based on the search for harmony between Man and Nature. A joint project, led by two key players in French and European tourism: Euro Disney and Pierre & Vacances Center Parcs.

I think this looks wonderful, it's my 50th Birthday in 2016 and I'm quite fancying a relaxing stay here coupled with a frantic few DLP days to celebrate it. :)
I remember reading that it was the target that 100% of guests would use public transport to reach Disneyland from it, does anyone know is that going to be via road or rail links or something more eco friendly ?

There was talk about a tram train type of thing a few years ago but I don't know what came of it.

I suppose we will know soon enough here as the planning/developement permission have to be posted in the town hall for everyone to see ;)

I hadn't thought of trams, very European :thumbsup2
I wondered if they might go down a water transport route in keeping with the water park theme or even a monorail now that would be exciting. :)

If it's over 6km away I can't see them installing a monorail or digging a canal though it could be a fun idea.

I don't know what to think about the whole thing, it looks nice like that and I can see it appealing to a North European public (especially the Germans and the Dutch) who love CPs but if it's as dear as CPs here I can't see people staying there and at Disney in the same holiday. :confused3

It will be interesting to see how much the holiday homes will cost to buy.

Back in 2006 or so a paper here did an article on it and they said something along the lines of that the Disney legal services would ensure that local residents couldn't purchase a home there and that they would only be rented out.

If this has now changed and looking at the price per sq.m in the region I'd imagine very very dear indeed :scared1:

Jill, I found ^^ over on DCP - dates back from May of this year and comes from the EPA Marne website - looks like the idea of a tram is still being considered :)

At the presentation in 2010 at the Sequoia Lodge they mentioned a number of cottages would be made available for purchase as holiday homes with a 180 day occupancy limit per year.

The paperwork at the presentation I was given says:
Cottages sold to individual investors and leased to them (for 9 years renewable) by the operating company. Project proponents are committed to the Public Authorities within the Amendment to the Convention, not to change the destination tourist accommodation for a period of 20 years for each phase.

So a number sold as a holiday homes, with a 9 years ground lease. You would possibly be able to own the cottages ground lease after 20 years.

Pierre & Vacances Conseil Immobilier has been chosen to handle the sale of the properties, which will come onto the market in 2012 .

Thankyou for posting :thumbsup2

I really like this idea of combining a Centre Parks type holiday with a Disney trip. With 2 teenage sons and a husband who doesn't appreciate the magic, my future Disney trips are in real jeopardy, this could be my salvation :)

Really excited for this. :)

It means a DLP trip could become a proper holiday as opposed to the 'short break' it normally is for us.

We love Center Parcs so I'm really looking forward to seeing how this all unfolds.

Thanks for sharing Jill. X

It does open up a lot of longer break possibilities, one week at DLP and another in Center Parcs.

ditto. This looks fab, once it is priced right :)

I'm very excited about this, have told my husband that if we haven't been able to go back to DLP before my 40th (6 and a half years time - we're going to be saving hard for WDW between our next trip and then) then I want to go for my birthday!
