Hi chaps,

Sorry another villa post I am afraid.

Can you tell me which area(s) I might be best to look at if I would like the following, please?

Ideally a villa within walking distance of a few shops / restaurants (if this is possible at all)

Only need 3 bedrooms (or actually only 2 but these don't seem to exist much I think)

Does not need to be close to the parks

Must have a pool (and even better a jacuzzi / spa!!)

Thank you everyone. My villa knowledge is rather out of date to say the very least

Oh and if you have stayed in one that meets all the above criteria, please feel free to PM me the details :) )

Not a clue!

The only criteria that the villa I had this year fits is the Pool with Spa!

Sorry I can not help you we own in Emerald Island but there are no 3 bedroom villas just town homes. Good luck in your search.

We're staying on regal palms this year. They have 3 and 4 bedroomed houses, with a pool and a lazy river. There is also a restuarant on site. There is a supermarket etc outside and within walking distance.

I was recommended this, by some of our American friends on one of the other boards, who have stayed there.

For next Oct it cost around 450.00/week. There is no pool with the house, but the lazy river etc makes up for it.

I will PM you with the link.

nothing is really within an easy walking distance to shops and restaurants -You still need a car to get to the majority of either.

REgal plams is just by highlands reserve on this map just to give you an idea of where it is .There is a Publix supermarket nearby as well as a chinese take away
Just up the road near to Lake davenport Estates -thats about 1/2 mile away- there is a restaurant at Bahama Bay and just a little further north -an Indian but really not within walking distance.

Hi - I am not aware of any that are walking distance to shops, I have looked around and stayed at several of the developments in the Kissimmee area and every one you would need to drive.

Your best bet is probably to stay just off the 192 in Kissimmee, where you will be close to restaurants/supermarkets and good access to Disney and the I4.

www.villas2000.com has two 3 bedroomed villas available at Cumbrian Lakes, which is a new development just off Poinciana Boulevard.
Have stayed there and it is very nice.

These are booked through contacting the owners direct.

This link will take you to thirty 3 bedroomed homes, again you deal directly with the owner.

Nearly all the villas have pools.
Any questions feel free to pm me.

I think it will be hard to find a villa within walking distance to some shops - we are staying in Sunset Lakes which is in the Formosa Gardens area - there is shopping / restaurants near by but it is still a drive away. How about Cypress Point resort which is very close to the Crossroads (within walking distance)

You can check the rates through http://www.hotelkingdom.com/ which is the best place to book. I seem to remember that a 2 bed is about $90 per night. It gets very good reviews (Squitty is staying there next week)

An interesting new development in the vacation rental business is for condo-hotels - luxury apartments being built in hotel-like blocks, and with plenty of on-site amenities. One of these under construction right now is the Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa, which boasts some fabulous-looking accommodations and facilities. The first phase will open in Jan 2006 and there is a lot more to come. The main reason for mentioning it? It is right next door to the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores - perfect for easy shopping!! :teeth:

Check out more at their website here!

Thanks for your input guys, I appreciate it.

I should have explained better - we are looking for a villa rather than a condo style apartment (though actually I wonder if that might be better). I like the idea of having our very own pool you see.

We are DVC owners so can stay at condo style accommodation at WDW and what I was looking for was something a "bit different". A lot of my friends rave about the luxury and size of the villas they have stayed in and I thought it might be nice to try.

I did find a couple of villas that claimed to be within 2 minutes' walk of a Publix and several chain type restaurants, but as I feared these seem to be in the minority (they were both fully booked for when I wanted them).

Thank you all so much for your input and your PMs. You have given me lots to think about!
