Villa Information

Because of work requirements, we won't be able to take our "summer" vacation until October this year.

We have decided to try a villa for our 14 night stay.

Since so many of you British folk stay at villas, I thought I would ask for your recommendations.

Any thoughts?

Yes, stay in a villa. There's no comparison with staying in a hotel. We love staying in villas so much we bought one on our last visit.

I agree, once we'd stayed in a villa, there is nothing quite like it. I'd recommend booking with a villa owner direct, this year we've got a 3 bed with pool, in exactly the area we want for £375/week. The same thing with Virgin would have been almost double that, and we wouldn't have know its address or even approximately where it was going to be until we got there!

You might find this topic gives you some useful ideas on renting a villa, I believe it gives both sides of the argument for renting villas either direct from an owner or through an agent. Hopefully it will save us having to rehash the same differences of opinion on the best option for your particular circumstances.

A villa deffinately is the way to go, theres nothing like sitting with your feet in the pool with a big glass of your favouriye beverage watching the steam rise from your aching feet!!
The only thing we found is to choose your location carefully, we stayed around the westridge area us27, which we found a little to far to drive each day, especially at night when you are tied, still only a 20-30 min drive. Previously we stayed at indian Ridge which we found prefect!!!!!!!

A villa is just wonderful! I thoroughly recommend it, for convenience, space, comfort and privacy.

As for location - this is just my own preference but I like to be just off 192 eg Indian Point. I have stayed off Highway 27 in Davenport Lakes but it's a little further out and at night when the traffic is busy and everyone is tired, even a few minutes less travellling time makes a difference.
