Viggle App: Get rewards for watching television!

Has anyone redeemed the Kindle Fire yet? I'm considering saving up my points for one to give to DD for Christmas and I just wondered how long it takes to arrive, etc. I read in the fine print that once the item is redeemed, Viggle will mail it to you, so I'm curious if anyone has done that yet.

I joined about a month ago and have gotten 2 BB gift cards and I've almost got enough for a Target card. DH used my 2 BB gift cards, plus $35 in reward certificates to buy himself the new iPad. The BB manager couldn't believe how much DH saved ($85!) by using the gift cards and the reward certificates. They had never heard of Viggle and were very interested when DH explained the program to them.

Personally, I wouldn't redeem for the Kindle Fire thru Viggle. What I would do is get BB gift cards (when/if they come back) and then buy Amazon gift cards from BB usings those gc's. You will save by not paying tax (unless you live in a state where Amazon collects taxes) and you will control the shipping. Plus you have the option of purchaisng a refurbished Fire to save even more money. We recently ordered the refurbished Fire for my DS#2 for $139 and it arrived in pristine condition :thumbsup2 Saved us $60 over the new Fire and he had it in 2 days.

you may be better off cashing in for bb if they come back.. the point value is much better.

300,000 points vs 375,000

I seen a few people have their account cancelled and points lost when they had over 200,00 so personally I cash when when I can.

I just got my Kindle Fire last week but instead of using my points to buy it through Viggle, I cashed out for Best Buy cards.

I'm really close to redeeming my second Target card, just 1,700 points to go! :cheer2:

Just out of the blue a few days ago we've decided to plan a trip to WDW for October. So my rewards strategy has changed to be more useful for our trip.

Target cards (for Disney cards, Best Buy (for a camera), B&N (for magazines/books for flight), and Starbucks cards

If those fail to available in rewards catalog, I'll just keep going for Sephora cards, and take the money from my beauty budget and save for trip!

Newbie here....do you get the bonus points if you check into a feature show that has been dvr'd?
Most of what is available for bonus points has to be checked in to while the show is live. I've tried to check in to DVR'd shows and it's very rare that you can. if the show you DVR'd happens to be on live TV (on any channel) while you're watching it than you can but it's rare.

Thank you for this thread. I found this thread on Friday and that's when I put the Viggle App on my phone. I'm at 39,500+ points right now. I have been finding the Gatorade ads all morning. I've earned over 4000 points just today from the ads. I've been clicking all over the soccer channels all morning and just when I think the ads are dried up, one will pop up. Yay!

Only if you can get the audio check-in to work. Manual check-ins only work for live shows. Also, you'll need to do your DVR shows within 7 days to get bonus points.

Another tip for finding gatorade ads:

Type in the word 'college.' You'll see on the list, college football, college soccer, etc. Just tag on everything in that list. Lots of ads popped up for me! :goodvibes

yep! you can also do it the next day by listening to clips of the show online.

I checked in to Brooklyn 11223 last night for the bonus points and in the end I only got 60 points instead of the bonus 200. Anyone else have this problem?

by that do you mean when the show starts click the checkin and if it works and i stay for at least 11 min, I should get the bonus points?

whats the deal with the gatorade ads?

its doesnt have to be at the beginning of a show... audio check in your device recognizes the show.. if after 2 times it doesn't that you can manually check in by typing in the name of the show. When doing that you wont get credit if its not during the live show.

I hope that made sense :rotfl2:

would anyone be willing to give me the low down on how to get the most points during the day....I've pretty much read through this post, asked a few questions but feel as though i'm missing something, especially for daytime.
I get the check in for primetime feature shows, but what does everyone do during the day to accumulate points? Also, is there somehow we can see the point accumulation breakdown or is it just the total?

Thanks so much

This is what I meant by that....

When you check into a show and the circle goes around to listen to your TV, if the audio worked then you get a pop window with your show listed. If the audio doesn't work you get a pop up that says something like, "Lets try again." If you get the "let's try again" that means the audio failed. You only get 2 tries to do the audio.

If the second audio check doesn't work, then you get a pop up to enter the show title manually. But there's a catch. You can only do manual check-ins with live shows. DVR must accept the audio check, otherwise you can't check-in and won't receive any points for that show.

And yes, in general whether it's a live show or DVR show, you need to be checked in for 10 to 11 minutes to get the bonus points.

The featured shows at night tend to run about 3 to 4 hours. So during the day I check into random shows to fill up the rest of the 12 hour daily limit.

CNN and weather channel have great shows that run several hours at a time, so you don't have to check-in every hour.

Major thing though is to hit ads/videos. (You'll see those terms thrown around, they mean the same thing.) In the app, look at the top of your screen. See where it says 'Featured Shows'? Next to it is a "button." Click that and a menu pulls down. Click 'search shows.'

This is where everyone searches and finds 75 point gatorade ads. Major key words to search for: soccer, nba, pga golf, swimming, etc. The gatorade ads show up in different places for everyone, so click everywhere! I find plenty of these ads through the day, however there have been some dry days for me. You're not going to have the same luck all the time.

If you are up at midnight eastern time, you can usually get continuous Gatorade ads for 15 minutes. Same around 6:30am ish (eastern time.)

Hope this helps! :thumbsup2

Oh, there is no way to see a history of your points in the app. But Viggle is supposed to come out with an updated version this week, and it's rumored to have a 'Points History Log.' So we'll have to wait and see.

Thanks so much!!! what's the deal with the ads, meaning if the ad keeps allowing you to play it, do you get the points for as many times as you play it or just the first 2 plays?

You should get points for as long as you click it.

I check in to shows that run for long spans of time. I have recently started checking into HLN Morning express and HLN News Now. The Morning express show runs from 7am to 12pm (even longer sometimes like today) and News Now is usually 12pm to 5pm. It's perfect and covers the times I'm at work. I'll do a manual check in while I'm at work for the second show at 12pm.

Then when I get home (on nights my husband is working a 12-hour shift) I'll check in to the primetime shows for 11 min and get the bonus points. then i move on to another bonus primetime show.

I'm still looking for something to check in to overnight while i'm sleeping that would get my points for the 6-8 hours I'm in bed.
