As someone has already said - you will always hear the horror stories as those are what people remember. I personally don't feel lucky to have had good experiences with TCD, I would argue that those with bad experiences have been unlucky. If they were really that bad, would they still be as popular as they are with UK visitors to Florida? I think not.

I think they are popular because they are cheap ( not always the cheapest- look around) and most people do not use boards such as this to find out about their reputation before booking. Had we known we would not have booked TCD. After all if we had wanted a 13 day holiday we would have booked it!!!

In no way am I disagreeing with you Jo and as you said earlier, you pay your money you take your chance. Everyone on these boards can only speak from personal experience and in our case, the experience was great. However, that doesn't make them a fantastic company no more than your bad experience makes them a poor company. IMHO you get what you pay for.

everybody has bad experiances with every airline, tcd just seems to get a roasting more often.

I have travelled 19 times to florida with different airlines, had 48 hr delays, etc and that was with virgin.

I complained to tcd this time because of us being down graded, Im happy to go with them next year though, and its not because of it being cheep, it normally costs dbf and I at least £1500 each and then some, we just like them

try them and let your experiances decided

People are more Inclined to comment on bad experiances that they have had with a company or if it is much better than expected. so when reading reviews etc you will tend to get a opinion of the two extremes.

we have booked our 4th trip with tcd this june.We were in sunshine first last time-fantastic for a nervous flier.Economy was ok but i would rather pay that little bit extra with them for much more room.
We had a short delay last time but other than that i have never had any problems with them. :thumbsup2
Like an earlier poster commented-people mostly remember the bad things about an experience.I can't fault tcd for value.

My first time experience with them is planned for November and fingers crossed, it will be a good one, or at least not a bad one!

What has made me chose them, is that I really could not get the price any cheaper at all, no one else could come close, we got 5 flydrives for £1500 in November, so that was what sold it for us. Generally, I do agree that you get what you pay for in todays world, but unfortunately, the price was too good an opportunity for us to say no to.

I'm keeping all my fingers and toes crossed, and will try not to read threads such as these, which will no doubt scare me!!!

Not the case. We have been on most airlines, charter and scheduled, with absolutely no problems. Have we been lucky? Probably but we do make some of our own luck however by avoiding certain travel companies and airlines who have bad reputations and TCD are at the top of our list to avoid. In 60 plus trips to Florida we have had 3 significant delays and two were with TCD. Never again.

It has beewn said bewfore , but I'll say it agian, TCD are cheap, and if they do not have problems of more than a few hours delay on that flight all will be well, but when they do have problems they are just very bad at dealing with them and they can escalate.

yes I believe you have been very lucky, we are very frequent travellers in my family, unfortunatly had problems with most airlines (my dad returned from america with ba a week ago and is still awaiting his luggage) no airlines perfect

We travelled with TCD in November 2004 as a family of three. Booked again this year to fly in December, much cheaper to go this time of year. We have had no problems, touch wood. As others say all airlines have their problems but, when you compare prices TCD is still better. pirate:
