Viewing Wishes Fireworks Outside MK

I'm traveling to the WDW area for business, and will have a late afternoon and evening that I can do whatever I feel like doing (1/20). However, because of an upcoming family vacation to WDW in a few months, I'm not going to any of the parks (envious family). Therefore, I'll limit myself to Downtown Disney, etc.

With that said though, I've seen in the past that you can view the Wishes Fireworks/Show from the Polynesian Resort Beach and/or the Contemporary Resort Tower. First, are both these options still available, even if I'm not a guest at the resort? Second, which is a better viewing option? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

You can view wishes from the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian Resort.

The Contemporary's best viewing location is California Grill - a signature restaurant atop the resort that dims the lights and plays the soundtrack. It's your best bet for an enjoyable fireworks experience.

You can also view the fireworks from the beaches and other areas of the Polynesian, Grand Floridian, and Contemporary. You do not have to be a resort guest to "tour" the resort. You can take the monorail from the Ticket and Transportation Center and get off at either resort, then find a nice spot with a good view of the castle. I recommend getting there early - I recall that the patio with a castle view at the GF gets crowded quickly.

My sister and I didn't have passes back in November, so we took a bus from DTD to the Polynesian, and sat comfortably in a lounge chair on the beach and enjoyed the fireworks - no crowds and no 'exit shuffle' when they were over. Enjoy!
