Can I please have a reccommendation (or two or three) as to what you would consider a good spot spot to view illuminations from somewhere in the World showcase?
Also, what time does illuminations usually take place in very early January?

Thank you
Suzy V.

9pm every night

I personally like the bridge between the UK and France. A lot of people like the area over near the counter-service Mexican restaurant, or near the big boat in Norway.

My now-favorite spot (since our June 05 trip) is Rose & Crown Pub!! We had 7:50pm reservations and the timing was perfect --- so was the view! :cool1:

Last December we stood between the American theatre and the Japanese arch and it was the most awesome spot! We actually saw some of the barges moving into position, and then we were able to watch the globe without all of the smoke you usually see. We will be standing there again this December! (can't wait)

We always go between Norway and Mexico....it's a clear view with no trees or other obstructions.

Looks like he took all the good ones. I like the bridge veiw the best myself though it can be at little crowded.

Any place that is upwind and not under a tree will give you a great view.

We normally are ones who watch from somewhere between Mexico and Germany...last year in December, we found a spot between Canada and the UK..if you know where the coffee stand is opposite the lagoon side, its straight across from the there. Look for a little sitting area with benches. We didn't use the benches, as we knew that people would be standing in front of us...so we went up by the iron railing and saved a spot for an hour or so. After seeing Illuminations many times, this is now my favorite spot. We were STRAIGHT across from the "Earth" and all the fireworks...very beautiful! This year, I have an ADR at R&C so hopefully we can get on the patio. It's my DD's 16th bday..so hopefully this will help! I can't wait!

We found a bench right beside the water that is just down from the Rose and Crown pub. We bought some fish and chips from the counter service and ate while waiting for the show. It was great seats, the only problem was getting the stroller back up the hill afterwards with the crowd all trying to leave at the same time but if you are going without a stroller it's a great place watch from.

I guess this wouldn't be the best spot for the two of us who will be in wheelchairs then. Right?

JoannaOhio you're right, it would be a bad spot for you. There might be a ramp to the side but I don't remember one, I remember DH and I trying to carry DS in the stroller up the stairs with DD clinging onto me so we wouldn't lose her in the crowd.

Also a lot of times I have seen that area roped off for someones special party so dont count on it.

That's where we were and it was definitely a good spot.
