I guess there is a YouTube video of last week's shuttle launch from a commercial airplane...

I can't seem to find it. Anyone have the link?

I guess on the video, you can hear the captain say, "For the passengers on the right, you can see the shuttle launch. For the passengers on the left, you can see the passengers on the right looking at the shuttle launch." :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

COOL. I'm surprised commercial aircraft were allowed that close but COOL pictures.

That is very cool! It was cloudy here that day so I was only able to see a part of the launch (in between clouds) ... hoping for better view for last couple. The night ones are great!

I flew down to Florida from NY sometime in January in the late 1990's. It happened to be a day that the shuttle was taking off.

The pilot said we had to take a little detour inland. I was headed to West Palm Beach & the flight always hugged the coast. He then said he was going to slow down a minute & hope we didn't mind because the Space Shuttle was going to take off at a certain time.

He said we were 50 miles away (to the west). I was stupid & didn't have my camera ready...really stupid but what did I know. But we saw the flash on the ground & watched it go up. The pilot even told us when it was being launched.

I was able to see the plume of smoke until I laned in WPB. It was amazing!
