Viewing availabilities online?

OK, a little background. We just recieved our points resale and have made our reservation at Saratoga Springs for the week between Christmas and New Years.... ( I know, rediculous time to go, but it is a pre-cruise stay ).

We are hoping to get moved over to either our home resort, BCV, or maybe VWL which is very unlikely, BLV, or maybe others but the question comes in when looking at that week, everything is booked except Saratoga. Is there an easy way to go look up the availabilities during that time... it really gets cumbersome going back and forth between screens checking different resorts and different room types....

or, if anyone would like to transfer me their BCV reservation that would be great too!!!

Thanks

No - to use the online system, you have to tell it which resort and villa booking category you wish to see. The system will return other choices (but I have found that I am very seldom interested in the ones they propose, lol).

Perhaps an enhancement will be made in the future. It would be nice to see all the available choices for your dates once you get within the 7 month window. I'm not looking for any enhancements in the near future, though.

On the bright side, even though the online system is a bit "cumbersome", it beats calling MS to check by several orders of magnitude! IMO, of course! :D

I second that! I know it might take several searches to figure out all the availability for the dates that I am looking for but at least I can look at 12:00 a.m.! Or 9:00 p.m. and then 20 minutes later - just in case something new pops up. I LOVE that we are able to now look and book on-line. Because of this I was able to cobble together 6 nights in a studio at BWV starting at one month out from travel! Believe me - it took A LOT of looking (several times per day) and switching around and canceling of single day reservations, but it only took 2 calls to MS (1 to cancel and book a different room so I didn't lose the reservation and 1 to link all my nights) which is something that I am grateful for.

I really like the online booking process as well. I began planning a 4 night vacation in January (within my 7 month period) and at first made one reservation for the total time. I then realized that I might be able to use some holding points (in November) for that reservation, depending on availability. So I canceled the original reservation and rebooked 4 separate reservations for the same time. That way if only one night or so during that time is available, I will be able to cancel just "one" night and rebook using holding points--without having to cancel the entire time.

At a closer time, I will then ask MS to link the separate reservations into one. I am figuring that I will have a span of about one month to look for availability for holding points and to also cancel the existing reservation (within the month time frame) without having those points go into holding. If it doesn't work out, I will have another chance to try to use the holding points before they expire in June.

Oh, I am not saying I dont like the idea of online booking... I just wish there was an easier way to view what was available without having to reset my search humpteen dozen times....

Just looking for a better way to skin this cat.. =)

Only on-line way is by resort and room category. When you do one of those you will get some alternatives listed so you do actually get to know the status of more than one resort/category at one time.

Things is if you call by phone, they have to do it that way too, by resort and room category, so even then you cannot get quick answer to following question: "Tell me if there is a studio available for the week at any resort other than SSR."

Also be aware that your likely chances of being able to switch that week to another resort such as BLT, BCV or VWL are close to zero. You should try to waitlist just in case.
